Chapter Four I Lose My Child
Zackary’s phone was on speakerphone, and I heard all the words the other side said.
I saw that Zackary was standing there with his phone like he was dumbfounded.
He couldn’t believe it.
“How could this happen?”
The blood beneath me was becoming more and more.
I felt this baby was slowly leaving me.
I was overwhelmed with desolation.
If this call had come earlier, my child would have been saved.
But even so, Zackary still didn’t believe that this child was his.
He squatted down and forced me to look up by pulling my hair with his hand.
“Lillianna, what benefits did you give to the people in the hospital? They helped you lie to
me, right?”
I smiled miserably. “Zackary, that’s what you think of me. If you don’t believe me, you can check it again yourself.”
He was just about to say something when a group of people swarmed into my house.
My dad came home.
He saw my mom lying unconscious on the couch and me in a pool of blood.
He became furious.
My dad kicked Zackary. “You bastard, what have you done?”
The rest of the policemen who came were my dad’s subordinates.

They sucked in a breath of cold air when they saw this scene.
Someone picked me up and put me on the bed. They called an ambulance.
My dad was like a madman, raising his fists to hit Zackary.
Zackary howled as he tore his lungs out.
“The police are hitting me. The police are hitting me!”
“Peyton, stop,” one of the policemen said.
And he couldn’t help but kick Zackary twice more.
“Take this bastard back. Kiersten and Lillianna need to go to the hospital.”
Hearing that he had to be taken away, Zackary was unconvinced. “What right do you have to arrest me? It’s a personal thing. My wife is cheating on me. What’s wrong with me teaching her a lesson?”
