I ignored Dominic’s shouting as I grabbed my bag and left.
He always acted high and mighty in front of me. It was as if marrying him was some kind of honor and that I could only enter his
research team because of his connections.
However, Dominic forgot one thing.
In reality, I was well off and had plenty of admirers. In the beginning, Dominic was insecure and feared that I would fall in love
with someone else. Thus, he told me to reject all confessions and forbid me from interacting with any male peers.
As for the research team Dominic built? Well, the research topic was my idea. I was the one who provided the funding. It was he
who sweet–talked me into giving him the research project. Even the two research topics that brought him so much praise before
were ideas that I helped him come up with.
Thus, he had no right to act all superior in front of me.
As I thought about it all, I made a phone call. “Ms. Britney, have you transferred the funds to the lab? I just want you to know that
Dominic’s team is losing money and failed to meet the contractual requirements. Call him and say that Hood Corporation will no
longer sponsor him.”
“Yes.”
Initially, the research topic I chose could help Dominic earn money after it was a success, just like the two projects he took from
me before. However, after two consecutive successes, he became arrogant and started doing research according to his whims. Due
to his actions, we argued countless times, and I was the one who backed down every time.
From now on, I would not back down anymore, not even if my research was on the line.
