“Could I have everyone’s attention, please, to serve as witnesses?”
I stood tall, my posture straight, and cast a calm, unwavering glance around the room.
Then, to everyone’s shock, I took off the wedding ring that had sat on my left ring finger for years, casually placing it on the
dinner table.
“Life is about fate, not relationships,” I said, my voice steady, showing no emotion.
“I’ve been holding onto the title of Mrs. Gunn and clinging to Jason for seven years, and I know that’s not right. You no longer
need to refer to Ms. Ferguson as his girlfriend behind my back. From now on, she will truly be his girlfriend.”
With those words, I linked arms with my mother and walked out of the private room.
Jason stumbled out after us, panic written all over his face. I had never seen him so flustered.
“Wynter, you’ve misunderstood. Please, let me explain.”
