After all, Lucius had failed to fake his death. Besides, there was only about a month left for him to cash the price of the lottery
ticket.
It would expire if he did not cash it by then. But he had to share half of the reward with me if he did.
During the ride home, I ate joyfully in the car.
Lilian glared at me. “All you do is eat, Why can’t you give birth to a son for Lucius?”
I glanced at Lucius. “Lilian, you can’t blame me. Maybe there’s something wrong with Lucius instead.”
Instantly, Lilian’s face changed.

“Nonsense! There’s something wrong with you. You can’t get pregnant! If you could, I would have had a grandson long ago.”
I went for a full body check–up at the hospital every year. I was certain that there was nothing wrong with me.
I glanced at Lucius. Nobody knew what kind of problem he was suffering from. He was probably the root of all this.
However, I was indifferent to whether he could get me pregnant or not. All I wanted was to wait until the date to cash the price and get the money before I asked for a divorce.
After all, I would be a fool if I did not think about myself after getting a second chance at life. But I knew they would not make it
easy for me.
Surprisingly, I found Rebecca at my home when I arrived. She had laid out a table of food. At the sight of us, she enthusiastically
served us.
“Welcome home! I thought you must be tired from the ride, so I came to cook for you.‘

Lucius could not bear to look away from Rebecca, since she was wearing slim–fit thermal clothes.
Rebecca threw a flirtatious glance at Lucius.
Lilian got so happy that her wrinkles deepened.
“You’re great, Rebecca! You’re pretty and worthy. Any man will be lucky to have you!”
Lucius nodded.
“Yeah, Rebecca is a perfect woman.”
I chimed in, “Yeah, you’re right. Hubby, isn’t your younger brother single? Let’s introduce Rebecca to him. We can’t let someone
else take away such a great woman.”
When I suggested that, everyone else looked thunderous.
Of course, Lilian was reluctant.
“Are you talking about Sam? He’s useless and crippled. Are you trying to set Rebecca up?”
Lucius disapproved of my suggestion too. “Yeah, do you want Rebecca to suffer for the rest of her life?”
I sneered. I wondered why they did not think that I would be miserable too when they tried to set me up.
When I suggested something for Rebecca, they criticized me instead.
What double standards!
“I was just joking. Stop taking things so seriously.”
I looked at Lilian and said calmly, “Lilian, you can take Rebecca in as your foster daughter if you like her. I think that’d be good.”

Everyone looked awkward at the dining table, but none of them talked.
I was the only one who enjoyed the meal with delight.
