Chapter 5
It seemed like Lucius and Lilian were going to come up with a way to make me sign for divorce in the meantime.
All I had to do was stay vigilant toward them.
After all, I did not know how wicked they could be.
I returned to my room at night. Lucius, Lilian, and Rebecca were sitting on the sofa and watching TV.
Lilian had asked Rebecca to spend the night while we were still at the dining table. Presumably, they wanted to discuss something.
I was cautious and left a recording pen behind the sofa.
When they went back to their rooms to sleep in the middle of the night, I went to the living room to search for the recording pen.
I fast–forwarded to when someone started talking.
I heard Rebecca’s voice first. “Mrs. Holmes, I’m already three months pregnant. What’ll I do if I start looking pregnant?”
Only then did I understand everything.
It turned out that Rebecca was pregnant with Lucius’s child. It was no wonder they had exhausted all means to get me out of the way.
Lilian grinned and said, “Don’t worry, Rebecca. Your baby is my eldest grandchild. I promise that he’ll be a part of my family legally and openly!”
Rebecca remained quiet. Lilian added, “I’ve contacted a few single men back in my hometown. When we’re gone, they’ll come to force themselves on Summer. Then, we’ll catch her in bed with them. She has to leave by then, no matter what!”
Lucius snorted.
“If we can’t get rid of her that way, we can still kill her. After all, 300 million dollars is enough for us to live abroad.”
A chill ran down my spine. They were so ruthless. They actually wanted to kill me!
If that were the case, I would not show them mercy either.
I called Lucius’s cousin in the middle of the night and invited her over for a few days.
In my previous life, my mother–in–law gave up trying to cure me. She got me home. Then, Lucius’s cousin took it upon herself to
take care of me. But she called her boyfriend over. They openly seized my bedroom. Besides, her boyfriend sneaked into my bed
and forced himself on me when she was not around.
I had led a miserable life before I died.
