Chapter 7
After reaching the summit of the snowy mountain, I pretended to sit down to rest.
I noticed Lucius looking around for something. He looked down at the mountain and stole glances at me from time to time.
I pretended not to know as I drank some hot water from the thermos and rested my feet.
When I was fully rested, I got up. “Let’s go, hubby. Let’s go down the mountain. It’s too cold here. My head hurts.”
Unexpectedly, Lucius abruptly got up. “No, we can’t. We don’t get to see the sunrise from the mountain peak every day. Shouldn’t we wait for the sunrise and take a photo to commemorate the moment?”
I smiled and shook my head. “I don’t think we should wait for the sunrise. The night view is great too with so many stars. I’ll take a photo of you instead.”
Of course, Lucius would disagree because he had a different agenda. He was too hesitant to let me take a photo of him.
“I’ll take a photo of you instead. We’ve been married for so many years, but I don’t even have one nice photo of you,” he insisted.
It would seem suspicious if I kept turning him down.
I walked near the cliff and firmly stuck my feet into the cracks between the stones.
Lucius stood nearby and pretended to take photos of me. He kept taking photos. “No, the lighting isn’t great here. Why don’t you move a little backward?”
He must think of me as a fool. It was a bottomless cliff. Of course, I would not move back.
“Maybe you should step a little to the back.”
Lucius gritted his teeth and squatted down. He pretended to take pictures of me for a while.
“Dear, your posture isn’t nice. Let me help you.”
Even an ignorant person would feel that something was wrong.
What an utter fool he was!
