Sean would never know the pain of the knife cutting my hand.
He would never feel sorry for me. He would just blame me for being stupid and doing everything wrong.
I shook my head to push those negative thoughts away. I told my mom I was hungry for her cooking.
Once we got home, I received a call from an unknown number.
When I saw that it was from North City, I immediately rejected the call.
However, this person called me five times in a row.
I grew frustrated and eventually answered.
Sean’s voice on the other end was hoarse. “Wendy, where did you go? Do you know how long I’ve been waiting for you at home?”
I did not answer, and he continued, “Why did you break up with me? Why did you block me? Wendy, we’ve been together for four
years. We’re about to get married-”
I cut him off. “Sean, I hate lies and betrayal. Do you know what I first thought when I saw the video Josie sent me? I thought,
thank goodness your legs are fine now. You won’t be sad about your disability anymore. But then, I realized that you cheated on
- me. I felt both happy and heartbroken. Do you know how much it hurt?”
Sean was silent.
It seemed that he was aware of the video Josie had sent me.
Even though he knew that it would hurt me, he still allowed it to happen.
I ignored his feelings of regret and hung up.
My mom looked at me. “Who called? You look upset.”
“No one. Just a spam call,” I replied.
A week later, I went on that blind date at a restaurant.
During this time, Sean kept calling me.
He did everything he could to get in touch.
Chapter 1
1 got tired of it and canceled my phone number.
Finally, I had peace.
When I arrived, my blind date had just gotten there too.
His back was facing me, but he looked familiar.
