Chapter 7
Wesley threw punch after punch at Sean.
“Who gave you the right to hurt Wendy? I care about her, and you made her cry!” he shouted angrily.
I touched my face and realized that I was crying.
Sean quickly retaliated, and they were both in a fierce fight.
I tried my best to pull them apart and glared at Sean.
Then, I took out a tissue and carefully cleaned the wound on Wesley’s face.
Sean looked at me with an unfathomable expression. “Wendy, why don’t you care about me?”
I ignored him and focused on cleaning Wesley’s wound.
Wesley looked at me with a mixture of restraint and possessiveness in his eyes.
I felt a little nervous.
Later, I took him to the hospital to get his wounds treated. I insisted, even though he did not want to go.
Sean was there too, and Josie was standing next to him. I had not seen her in a long time.
She looked at Sean with concern and said with a quiver, “Sean, what happened to your face? Does it hurt?”
He ignored her and stared at my hand, which was tightly holding Wesley’s.
Wesley noticed and proudly showed Sean our joined hands.
“Are you here to check on me?” Sean asked. His voice sounded tense but hopeful.
I sneered. “Don’t flatter yourself. You’re a stranger to me now. I won’t care even if you die.”
Following my response, Sean looked defeated.
He lowered his head with a bitter smile and walked away with Josie.
As I watched them leave, Wesley said, “If you still care about him, you can go after him.”
However, he tightened his grip on my hand. His tone revealed that he was a bit jealous.
I shook my head. “I don’t care whether he lives or dies. Right now, I only care about you, Wesley.”
He looked down and saw my bright eyes.
“Okay, I’m serious about this. Don’t lie to me,” he whispered.
