“Although she didn’t intend for you to get hurt, I still made her prepare a gift to apologize to you. Don’t be angry anymore, okay?”
I avoided him disdainfully. There was another frame under the first one. I picked it up and saw that the one underneath had three handprints on it. It was signed “Jasper, Baby Hayden, and Nicole.”
“The baby’s name is Hayden?” I smiled sardonically as I looked at Jasper.
How could a homewrecker like Nicole be worthy of naming the baby I had given birth to?
Jasper hastily picked up the frame and refused to let me keep looking at it. “Nicole must have put it in by accident. I’ll throw it away at once. Don’t take it to heart. I’ll make her prepare another present for you to apologize.”
“Get lost.” I did not even decide to look at Jasper again.
Jasper wasn’t angry at all. He said in a somber tone, “Ari, Keith asked me to take care of you. Don’t make him worry about you up
there, alright?”
I laughed scornfully. “How could you have the audacity to mention my father? What were you doing on the day of his death
anniversary?”
