“We’ve registered our marriage already. We’re an old married couple. Why do we have to go through with all those superficial things?”
I was hurt deeply by his remark, and I returned to my own home at once.
Jasper only came to coax me back after seven days. He gave the excuse of being on a business trip as the reason for why it had taken him so long to come and bring me home.
He had mumbled that he would find a time to have the wedding, but it was indefinitely postponed, and he wouldn’t give me a specific date.
He knew that I really wanted to have a wedding, but he still kept taking me to the weddings of other people.
When he saw me being touched to tears and how envious I was about the happiness of other people at their weddings, he made fun of me for being so corny.
However, he had plenty of time to have a wedding. He just didn’t want to give me one.
When I found out I was pregnant, I called Jasper at once to share the good news with him.
I called several times, but no one answered. Finally, I got a call back, but it was a woman who spoke. “Hello, who’s this? Jaspie is trying on suits.”

I was stunned for a long time before I recovered. I thought I had heard wrongly, and that someone else had picked Jasper’s phone
- up.
However, Jasper had saved my number as “Honey” on his phone. Why had the woman asked me who I was, and why was she
calling him “Jaspie“?
I seemed to understand everything instantly, but I did not want to face it. I chickened out and hung up.
However, several wedding photos were sent over very soon.
The man and woman in the photos were both very good–looking. They were leaning in very close to each other and looking
tenderly at each other. They looked like a happy newlywed couple.
However, the man in the photo was my husband!
The message that came was an introduction.
“Hello, are you Aria? My name is Nicole. I grew up with Jaspie, and I’m still not used to the environment here after coming back
from abroad, so I asked Jaspie to keep me company.
“I said that I wanted to take some wedding photos, but I have no one to take them with, so I asked Jaspie to stand in temporarily.
“I hope you don’t mind, Aria. We didn’t do anything! If you don’t believe me, you can look at the photos I sent you.”
I did not sleep a wink for the entire night. Early the next morning, Jasper came home, looking very energetic. My eyes were still
wide open.
I asked him accusingly about the photos, but he blamed me for being suspicious and distrustful instead.
That was the biggest argument we had ever had. Ever since then, whenever I mentioned Nicole, I wouldn’t even get to finish my sentence before he started calling me petty. He accused me of always being jealous over nothing and being paranoid.
We started giving each other the cold shoulder, and he started coming home less and less. He knew that I was pregnant, but he
never showed me any concern at all.
Despite this, I still tried my best to salvage the relationship.
I humbled myself to Jasper because I wanted to give my baby a whole family. If he cut things off completely with Nicole, I could pretend that nothing had happened, and we could have a good life together.
I could agree to not having a wedding and just living a down–to–earth life as a family of three.
On the day of our wedding anniversary, I prepared a meal with his favorite dishes. I relented and said many good things.
His heart softened as well, and he promised to eat with me. He promised to go with me to get a 4D ultrasound of our child the
next day.
However, I hadn’t expected Nicole to be that important to him. I didn’t know that she was so important that he would throw me aside on our wedding anniversary and leave in a rush, ignoring the fact that I had cooked for the whole day while pregnant.
