even worse than this.”
Vanda screamed, her hands clutching the bedsheets tightly. “Luna, you won’t get away with this!”
The nurse panicked and rushed over to steady her. “Dr. Watson, are you okay? What’s happening?”
Vanda shoved the nurse away and ripped the IV needle out of her arm. She lunged at me, shrieking, “Luna, give me back my baby! That’s my baby!”
I quickly shielded my stomach and sidestepped her, causing her to fall hard onto the floor. Standing over her, I glared. “What do you mean, your baby? This baby was mine to begin with, wasn’t it?”
I added, “You used that horrible witchcraft to steal my baby! You even wanted me dead! You’re the cruel one, Vanda!”
Vanda began tearing apart the hospital room, throwing anything she could grab. It was sheer chaos, but thankfully, it was a private room, so no one else got hurt.
The nurse stumbled backward and fled, stammering, “I–I’ll get a doctor and security!” Vanda realized what was happening and ran to lock the door behind her. Her eyes burned with hatred sd she glared at me. “Luna, I wasn’t the one who wanted to hurt you! I just wanted a baby of my own–with Jacob!”
Jacob Connor was her husband.
My whole body shook with rage. “Then have your own damn baby with Jacob! Why did you have to steal mine?!”
Her face twisted into a bitter, mocking smile. She spat hatefully, “Jacob is dead!”
