The next day, Christian sat in his office all morning, doing nothing. He even had the mood to wander up to the rooftop, enjoying
the breeze.
If I still had a body, I would shove him off this building without hesitation. That would be my revenge.
“Mr. Gordon, what are you doing up here? There’s a meeting coming up. Do you want me to postpone it?” Sam asked.
Christian shook his head and looked at Sam. “Sam, do you know where my daughter went after she was discharged from the hospital?”
Sam looked puzzled. “That’s your family matter. How would I know? All I know is that your daughter had a successful operation
on the 8th of last month. The whole company was relieved. We thought the little princess would come to visit once she got
better.”
Christian frowned. “When did my daughter have surgery? How come I didn’t know?” He paused as if something had just clicked.
“Sam, the one who had surgery on the 8th wasn’t my daughter.”
