Chapter 8
I couldn’t take it anymore, and I slapped Rosa on the face. Since I had to do a lot of work by myself in the mountains, I had gotten
a lot stronger. So, her face was swollen in no time.
When she saw Yoel from the corner of her eyes, she took the opportunity to fall to the ground. Her white dress was tainted by the
mud immediately.
Yoel had just returned from collecting water from the river. When he saw what happened, he anxiously threw the bucket to the
side.
Rosa’s tears began rolling down on command, and the vile look she had was instantly replaced by a pitiful act. “I just wanted to
take care of these kids for Felicity, and she thought I was snatching them away from her. So, she hit me out of jealousy…”
Before she could finish her sentence, Yoel slapped her on the other side of her face. This time, she was hit way harder than earlier.
Rosa’s eyes were filled with fear as blood dripped from her mouth.
“Why did you hit me, Yoel?”
He looked at her coldly and said, “Rosa, I was only blinded by you because of the pitiful act you put on the past. In reality, Felicity is way stronger and kinder than you. She’s also more talented than you, and there’s no way you can ever compare to her!”
Rosa lay weakly on the ground, and her body stiffened after hearing his cruel words.
“Throughout the months that Felicity was gone, I realized something. I’d already fallen in love with her five years ago!” He chuckled self–deprecatingly and called himself an idiot for not admitting he was already in love. He felt dumb for using Rosa as
an excuse to avoid it.
“You should leave while I still have my patience, Rosa,” he said coldly. “Otherwise, I don’t think it would be hard to believe if a woman loses her way in the woods here.”
A realization hit Rosa, and her face turned incredibly pale. She looked at him carefully and finally realized he was not messing around at all.
“I’ll leave tomorrow morning,” she said while she got up from the ground with her gaze lowered. Without her around, I could finally let out a breath of relief. As for Yoel, no matter how much I insulted him, he wouldn’t leave at all. I wasn’t capable enough to get rid of him.
In the end, he shamelessly stayed back and really became a teacher. The domineering CEO was actually patiently caring for the children and gently smiling at them. He had also stopped trying to talk to me and would just leave me a letter at my door every day. Every time, there would be a different object on it.
