I took one last look at the villa before leaving the courtyard. I would never come back again.
Tina Carter stood by the door, quietly wiping her tears away as she watched me. “Are you really leaving, Madam?”
Tina had been here ever since I moved in. She had been so kind to me, treating me as if I was her own. I figured she would be the
only person who would genuinely shed tears for my departure.
I held Tina’s hands in mine and softly smiled. “This is a good thing for me. You should be congratulating me instead.”
Everything was done efficiently on Yohan’s side–his assets were transferred to me shortly after.
I used the spare money in my account to purchase a 2,000–square–foot loft that caught my eye last month.
The previous owner had immigrated, and the place was already renovated in a romantic continental style. I took a liking to it at
once–no renovations were needed, and I could even move in on the same day.
I quickly signed the agreement and had the movers send all my belongings
s over.
I had already hired several organizers. My belongings were neatly sorted and arranged in less than a day’s time. It was money
well spent.
I relaxed in the lounge chair in front of the floor–to–ceiling windows, enjoying the outside view. My life could finally start anew
now.
Samuel soon arrived carrying multiple bags. He was the first person I told after the divorce. After all these years, I have gotten
used to telling him about everything and anything–and he would be on my side unconditionally.
“Why did you bring all these with you?” I asked, looking at the things he had brought over.
