“We have to have your first meal here in your new place, so I picked up some groceries,” Samuel said, storing everything neatly in
the fridge. “I got you some fruits and milk. Now that it’s getting colder, let them sit at room temperature before eating. Also-”
I couldn’t help but find him amusing–what a nagger!
However, I was shocked when I suddenly saw the box on the floor shaking violently. “That box is moving, Samuel!”
Samuel chuckled and replied, “It’s a gift for you–come and open it up!”
I was hesitant, yet I heard a soft meow. My eyes lit up as I rushed over and carefully opened the box. To my surprise, it was a golden exotic shorthair.
I crouched down to observe the cat closely. The one Samuel picked was especially affectionate–it was rubbing against my calves.

I never imagined I could ever own a cat as Yohan was germaphobic. Samuel was the only one who knew I was fond of cats.

I had the cat in my arms and played with it for some time. I named it
it Fluffy.
Samuel quickly finished preparing our meals. He then picked up a pork rib and placed it on my plate.
“Will
you be alright staying here alone tonight?” he asked, worried. Perhaps he thought I might do something rash–after all, I had loved Yohan so much.
“Don’t worry. I was the one who asked for the divorce–I no longer had feelings for Yohan. It’s like something just clicked in my mind after the car accident, isn’t that amazing?” I said.
Samuel smiled in relief when he realized that I wasn’t faking my relaxed expression. “I’m really glad you’ve figured things out- Yohan never deserved you. Now that you’re divorced, do you want to return to the company?”
Before my pregnancy, I was the one helping Dad manage the company. Once I got pregnant, he handed the company over to Samuel, who was only 18 and still on summer break.
But it turned out Dad had great foresight–the company’s revenue tripled in just two months.
From then on, Samuel balanced his schooling and running the company. He quickly became one of the most promising young entrepreneurs.
