I placed a hand over my chest. I couldn’t tell where the sudden spark of joy was coming from.
“I’m not joking! Everyone could tell he likes you. You don’t know this, but he’s only meek when he’s with you–he wears this dark and scary expression everywhere else!” Lara said.
“So, what do you think? Now that you’re divorced, you should consider Samuel. He’s so much better than that bastard!”
I replied, “My mind is all over the place right now. I’m already busy enough with work–I don’t want to think about anything
else.”
I ended the call with Lara in a hurry, but my phone started ringing again immediately after. I accepted the call and found out it
was Yohan.
“Juli has a fever now and insisted on seeing you, Naomi. Can you come home to see him for a bit?” The voice from the other end of the line sounded like a plea.
