“May, give me one more day. We’ll sort everything out after I bring Margot back to Veridian City,” Joey said, his tone earnest.
Maisie’s face slowly turned pale. She bit her lip hard, her eyes filled with malice.
Charles continued to comfort her, but she had made up her mind.
She grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the airport exit.
“Charles, let’s go to our parents and nullify the adoption agreement, then we’ll get married!”
Charles was stunned for a moment as he heard the determination in her voice. But after the shock, joy quickly filled him, and he
eagerly led her back home.
Fred and Martha were delighted when they found out and immediately went to take care of the paperwork.
After Charles and Maisie had their marriage registered, Maisie returned home as Fred and Martha’s daughter–in–law.
The couple were overjoyed and even wanted to share the news with Margot.
When they called Margot to share the news, her reaction was surprisingly calm. She simply hummed in response.
Fred and Martha were displeased by her attitude and scolded her.
“Margot, why don’t you offer your congratulations to Charles? From now on, Maisie will be your sister–in–law. You can’t bully
her like you did before.”
“Bully Maisie?” Margot found the accusation laughable.
She was about to head to the wedding rehearsal and was in no mood to argue with her parents. Instead, she offered a few
perfunctory words.
