“I was the one who took care of you, watching you grow from a little girl into the person you are now.
“You always followed me around, calling out to me. The day I left Veridian City, you cried so hard your voice became hoarse. You
insisted on coming with me.
“I promised you that one day I would come back to get you, but I broke my promise. Thankfully… thankfully, you’re finally here
with me now.”
It was too long ago for Margot to remember much from when she was three or four but seeing the sincere look in his eyes, she knew that everything he said came from the heart.
In those forgotten years, she truly had someone like an older brother she loved very much.
Although they were later separated by thousands of miles, he had never forgotten her nor broken his promise.
By the time they returned to their marriage home, the sky had already darkened and the lights had been lit all around the house.

Margot had once heard Vivienne mention that the villa was the first property Dominic bought with the money he had earned.
Every piece of decoration and furniture inside was personally designed and selected by him.
The house, vacant for five years, had finally found its mistress.
Dominic led her through every corner of the house.
“You used to say you wanted a huge garden full of all the flowers you loved–tulips, lilies, and roses. You named so many. Do you see anything missing now?
“You loved drawing on my clothes and face when you were little. You even promised that when you grew up to be a famous painter, you’d paint me a portrait. Although I don’t know if you still care for painting, I’ve had a studio set up for you.
“Then there was a time when you became obsessed with the piano, constantly asking me to teach you. You said we’d play duets together one day.
“To make that dream come true, I’ve been practicing over the years, though it’s been five years since I’ve played. My skills have become a little rusty, so I’ll need some time to practice again.”
As he spoke of the past, Margot felt her empty heart slowly fill up.
She looked down at the intertwined shadows on the floor, and tears filled her eyes.
“We don’t need to rush,” she said softly. “We have plenty of time ahead of us to play piano together, paint together, swing together, and decorate our home together.”
