Chapter 135
As Cheryl reminisced about the past, a warm, nostalgic glow filled her eyes.
Suzanne thought for a moment before shaking her head “I don’t remember.”
Back in high school, she had been fully immersed in her studies, paying little attention to what was happening around her. She had a few close friends, but beyond that, she didn’t really per mich mind to her classmates.
cheryl clicked her tongue, giving her a knowing look. “Seriously? He had the biggest crush on you. He spent all of high school trying to get your attention–writing you love letters, following you around. And you have no clue of it all?”
She sighed dramatically. “That poor guy even recorded a song for you. And he actually had a great voler.”
Cherd bit into a piece of grilled meat, shaking her head
Suzanne frowned slightly, digging through her memory. “That sounds somewhat familiar.”
But as for what he looked like? She had no recollection of it at all.
To be fair, she had a lot of admirers back then–tall, short, fit, not–so–fit, handsome, and…not so handsome. It was hard to keep track.
She picked up a few more pieces of grilled meat and placed them on Cheryl’s plate. “You’re way too skinny. Eat more.”
People often told Suzanne she was thin, but in her opinion, Cheryl was the real one who needed to put on some weight.

But as she reached for another bite, her expression tumed hesitant. She glanced at Suzanne, her tone cautious. “Hey.. Have you been having problems with your family lately?”

Cheryl’s eyes flickered, and she quickly waved her hand, “Oh, nothing I was just wondering ”

So, Seline was already spreading names among their old classmates? Go figure.
She was about to drop the topic when Cheryl hesitated before speaking again, “It’s just. Fantly is important, Suzanne When they’re still around, that’s when you’re truly lucky.”
Suzanne’s lips curved into a faint smile. “I know what you mean. But don’t worry about me–I’m fine.”
Maybe in the past, she would have thought the same way.
But after Henry repeatedly threw her to the wolves and after Seline tried to steal her boyfriend and scheme against her at every turn, she had no interest in maintaining people who had long stopped treating her as family.
Still, she wasn’t about to air her family drama
Cheryl quickly changed the subject, and soon, they were laughing and chatting again.
Tume flew by
After an hour, they had eaten their fill, and Cheryl suddenly suggested, “Suzanne, let’s go for karaoke! I haven’t sung in forever.”
Suzanne arched a brow, agreeing. “That sounds fun.”

Grilled greens weren’t the most exciting dish, but they had a light, smoky flavor that Suzanne always enjoyed. She took a bite and then smiled, saying, “It still tastes just like
before.”
Cheryl, munching on a slice of drilled potato, replied through a mouthful of food, “Of course! This place is a staple forews.”
They but becoming here since high school. If the food wasn’t good, it wouldn’t have lasted this long.
Suzanne nodded in agreement.
After resting for a bit, she paid the bill, and they left the restaurant.
As they reached the parking lot, Cheryl spotted Suzanne’s car and immediately froze. Her jaw dropped. “Whoa! Suzanne, when did you get a new car?”
Sure, she had always known that Suzanne came from money, but damn–she didn’t realize Suzanne was actually richer than she’d imagined.
