“Of course. Just call me when you’re done.” He handed me his phone and thoughtfully closed the door.
“Hello? Mom, it’s Sarah.”
“What happened?” Mom’s worried voice came through. “You were supposed to be on the noon flight. Where are you?”

“We couldn’t reach you. Your father and I were so worried.”
I sighed. “Something came up, and I lost my phone.”

“Hurry and get ready. We’ve arranged everything here the flight and the meeting with the guy I told you about.”
“Alright, I’ll call you again later.”
I returned his phone after hanging up.
“I’m sorry, I forgot to ask – what’s your name? You saved my life, I should know who to thank.”
“No thanks needed,” he shook his head. “Just remember my name – Daniel Williams.”
“I will,” I said, pushing back the blanket. “I have something urgent to attend to. I’ll pay the medical bills later.”
Seeing my urgency, Daniel didn’t stop me, just walked me to the hospital entrance.
He reminded me to care for my wounds, “Keep the wounds dry, and come back if you have any problems.”
“Thank you.” His kindness touched my heart. I smiled at him. “Dr. Williams, you’re truly a good person.”
He didn’t respond, but his smile seemed to hold deeper meaning.
After leaving the hospital, I quickly got myself together and boarded the flight home.
As soon as I landed, my mom practically dragged me into the car, “Hurry up, he’s waiting at the restaurant!”
“Listen, he’s perfect- great job, great personality. If you mess this up, don’t bother coming home!”
I pushed open the restaurant door with resignation, but was shocked to see who was waiting.
“Dr. Williams? How are you here?”
I never imagined that the man who saved my life yesterday would be my date today.

“My family hopes I’ll settle down soon. I’ve learned a bit about your situation, and to be honest, I’m quite impressed with you.”

He smiled warmly at me, his presence as comforting as spring sunshine.
I suddenly felt shy, answering quietly, “You’re a wonderful person. I couldn’t find any fault with you.”
He’d not only saved my life but was also genuinely kind and gentle.

“In that case, let’s get married right now.”
