Agnes was terrified by Kenneth’s expression. She shook her head repeatedly.
“What did Irene ever do to you to deserve this? Tell me, why did you have to hurt her?”
Kenneth turned to face Agnes. His eyes filled with disgust.
“What do you know?”
Agnes looked into his eyes. She then lowered her head and laughed. She let out a sigh before raising her head again. Her tone was laced with self–mockery.
“You must already know everything. Yes, I killed her. I was helping you. Didn’t you hate Irene? No matter what I said, you always believed me. But when it came to her, you never did. She only made you angry and frustrated.
“I simply got rid of someone you hated. She didn’t listen to you, so I helped you eliminate her. Now, you can replace her with someone who actually obeys you. That way, you won’t always be so angry anymore.
“For example, me. When you’re with me, you’re never angry. All you do is smile. Getting angry ages you, Kenneth. You still have so much to deal with for the pack. How could you waste all your energy on her?”
Upon hearing Agnes’ words, Kenneth’s veins bulged with fury. He never imagined that the childhood friend he had grown up with could be so terrifying.
In her mind, everything was his fault.
