He slapped her hard across the face. Agnes spat out the blood in her mouth, lifted her head, and smiled at him.
“Every time I asked you to be with me, you always dropped everything and came running. The only fool who kept forgiving your betrayals was Irene!”
At this point, watching the two of them argue felt dull.
A love that came too late was nothing but repulsive.
I never wanted to compete for a man or fight desperately for his affection.
Our efforts should have been used to protect our pack, not to battle over a relationship.
If they had just been honest with me from the beginning, I would have stepped aside willingly and even wished them happiness.
No one wanted to be in a relationship that lacked love. Everyone longed for a peaceful and happy life.
I no longer wanted to watch this meaningless quarrel, so I turned and walked toward the freezer’s exit.
To my surprise, I was no longer bound to Kenneth’s side. I could move freely.
Maybe even the Moon Goddess couldn’t bear to watch any longer and finally showed me mercy.

Chapter 8
As I pondered where to go next, several police cars suddenly arrived outside the freezer.
There were several reporters among the crowd of onlookers.
Kenneth remained expressionless as he stepped into the flashing lights and silently got into a police car.
Before long, news of Kenneth’s suspected involvement in my death spread everywhere.
It was the talk of the town. Everyone was worried.
If the leader of their pack was imprisoned, who would lead them to fight back against rival packs?
Speculation ran wild. Would they exile Kenneth and elect a new leader?
But no one expected what happened next.
Kenneth was released from prison almost immediately after posting bail. Agnes, on the other hand, was locked away.
I thought I would never have to see Kenneth again.
But then, one day, he appeared before my gravestone with a bouquet of flowers.
