Overcome by excitement, I tried to tell Dominie the truth, only to remember that he had blocked my mumber earlier that morning.
He had told me that I was a vile woman with the blackest heart ever and that he didn’t want to be in touch with me ever again. So, I could only seek him out in person.
Little did I know that I’d get into an accident of the way there and end up dying on the
spot.
Now that I thought about it, I was the one who was being delusional.
Dominic had always viewed Isabelle as a pure and innocent woman. How could she be the murderer who killed Mdm. Miranda?
A loud ringtone snapped me out of my thoughts at that moment. Dominic, who had looked cold and aloof earlier, had mixed feelings written all over his face when he saw the caller ID.
“Dominic, it’s Mom’s death anniversary tomorrow. Are we visiting her grave together?”
“Yeah. I’ll go pick you up.”
“Okay.”
A moment of hesitation later, Isabelle asked, “What about Ophelia? Will she be there too?”
Dominic’s expression crashed instantly. He replied casually, “She’s dead.”
After ending the call, he suddenly turned the car around. Just like that, I followed him to
the crematorium.
It was already nighttime. I might be a ghost, but I couldn’t help but fear this place. But Dominic kept knocking on the door without a care in the world.
“Where are Ophelia’s ashes? Give them back to me!”
The employee looked quite confused. He could also recognize Dominic as the madman who had scattered my ashes in the crematorium earlier.
“Sorry, but the wind blew Ms. Burton’s ashes away after you left. We couldn’t collect it at all.”
Dominic was the one who had scattered my ashes. Heck, he even ground his foot into them. Yet now, he came all the way back to the crematorium just to ask for my ashes.
I had a feeling that he wanted to humiliate me one more time. Maybe he intended to scatter my ashes in front of Mdm. Miranda this time.
The atmosphere became tense right away. Dominic hoisted the employee by the collar while growling out menacingly, “How dare you lie to me! There wasn’t any wind back then!
