It was a call from Will.
As soon as Ian pressed the answer button, we could hear Will sobbing down the line.

Ian was still in a daze.
On the other hand, Will continued in a choked voice, “Rebecca? Why aren’t you saying anything, Rebecca? Are you still angry? It’s my fault for not realizing it sooner. Things have turned out like this because that damn Lorelei has set up a trap to frame you!
“Lorelei was the one who gave you the item that triggered her allergic reaction that day. I misunderstood you! Rebecca, please say something. Can you please forgive me?

On the morning of that very day, Lorelei gave me the packet of seasoning that would trigger her allergic reaction. Initially, I thought everything was going to get better from that point onward.
Especially since I had composed a song for Will that day. I was going to give him the song as a present to congratulate him on his second anniversary after making his debut.
I never imagined that I would be dragged and locked inside the cellar by my brothers, who fell for Lorelei’s scheme. In the end, I even suffocated and died in the cellar.
Fortunately, I had shared the news about the song with the people working at the studio in advance since I was feeling happy. I also told them about the packet of seasoning Lorelei gave me.
If only Will had dropped by the studio sooner, he would have found out about the truth sooner as well.
I shook my head expressionlessly. There was no point regretting it since it was too late now.
Ian clutched his chest and stumbled a few steps backward. He had misunderstood me. It was all an act that was orchestrated by Lorelei.
His eyes looked dull. Ian smiled bitterly. “Will, it’s me.”
Will sounded extremely agitated and regretful. “Ian, pass the phone to Rebecca. I need to give her a proper apology first.”
Ian felt as though his heart was being squeezed to the point it was getting distorted. He yelled in a cracked voice, “Rebecca’s phone was found inside the cellar!”
After a moment’s silence, Will asked in a shaky voice, “Rebecca… Where’s Rebecca, then… Ian, hold on. I’m coming home right now!”
Lorelei’s expression had gradually hardened as well. The hair above her ears was stuck to her skin because of her sweat.
“Ian, let me explain first…”
Lorelei had only uttered those few words when Ian gave her a hefty kick and sent her flying backward.
Then, Ian bellowed furiously, “Hold her down!”
