“Hey, don’t just stand there, you’re blocking the light!” Judith spoke with a tone that was almost commanding. “I’ll buy this one, no need to try it on. I’ll pay for it straightaway.”
“Really? Then please follow me,” said Shannon, taking the clothes to the counter.
Before I could pay with my card, I heard Shannon and Jennifer arguing.
“What’s wrong with you, stealing my customer?” Jennifer said loudly as she tried to snatch the clothes back.
“You were the one who didn’t want to serve her.” Shannon glanced at me with a look of grievance and apology.
The saleswoman’s face showed a hint of awkwardness as she tried to make amends, as she walked past Judith.
“I’m really sorry, I…,” she said apologetically.
“You have no shame. You never gave me a good attitude when I walked in, and now Shannon’s helping me, so she gets the credit for the sale,” I said firmly as I stepped closer to her.
But Judith suddenly raised her voice. “I’ll take this set too.”
“Oh, ma’am has already bought this set of clothes. You can go find something else,” Jennifer said smugly.
As a regular customer, Judith had always been domineering, and Jennifer was eager to close this sale.
“Miss, I think these also suit you. Why don’t you take a look?” Shannon, softer in nature, could only compromise.
“I’ll take a look myself, and if I find something I like, I’ll buy it and let commission,” I said.
“Does her age even suit this dress?” I whispered to Jennifer.

Jennifer glanced at Judith and said to me, “My customers can buy whatever they like. Stop sticking your nose into other people’s business.”
Judith was trying to show off by buying an expensive dress she couldn’t even wear.
“You haven’t bought clothes here for a while, and now you’re spending big,” she said smugly as she pulled out her card.

Jennifer took her card and noticed she wasn’t happy. After putting the card into the card machine, her expression became awkward. “There’s not enough balance on this card. Could you try another one?”
Upon hearing this, Judith was obviously puzzled.
“How about this card?”
She glanced at the price tag on the dress, which read 2,600 dollars, trying to cover up her embarrassment.
I pretended to look at other clothes in the store, listening to the scene unfold.
“There isn’t enough money in this card either,” Jennifer said again.
Judith’s face became even darker.
She glanced at me, as if wanting to say something, but then, feeling too embarrassed, turned to leave, forcing out an awkward smile. “I see, this dress doesn’t seem to suit me. I’ll let this young lady have it and buy it next time.”
Before she left, I overheard Jennifer muttering angrily, “She could’ve just said she wasn’t buying instead of being so picky.”
A moment later, Jennifer followed me closely, worried that I might change my mind. With a big smile, she asked, “Since that lady isn’t buying… I don’t know what she’s thinking. She said she wanted the dress, but decided not to buy it in the end,” she added. “Do you still want this one, or would you like to look at something else?”
I ignored her and kept on walking.
Jennifer, embarrassed, silently followed me.
“This one will do. Shannon, please pack it up,” I said, choosing a dress from the display.
“Ah, coming right up.” Shannon quickly walked over.
“Miss, you really have an eye for style. This is a special edition by our designer, and it suits you so well,” Shannon said happily, which improved my mood.
“Are you sure? It’s a bit expensive,” she said, trying to probe.
“Just pack it up,” I replied confidently.

arrogantly.”
I overheard her and played along, saying, “Wrong, it’s not that I’m acting arrogantly, it’s that you’re looking down on people.”
After paying, Shannon escorted me to the door.

Are you sure you still want to work with someone like her? If you want a higher- paying job, you can call me.” I handed her my business card.
“Thank you, Miss. You’re so kind,” she said, looking down at my card.
Jennifer looked furious, as though she might explode any second.
Not far from the door, I saw Judith sitting on a bench, clearly waiting for me. “Why is there no money on your card?”
I guessed the reason why her card had no money was that Rick’s company was in trouble.
This was probably karma, after all, the mother and son had never been kind to me. She crossed her arms and looked at me with disdain, replying, “What’s it to you?”
“Did your son spend it all on Helen?”
Her expression changed. “What’s wrong with spending money on a pregnant woman? You wouldn’t understand, outsider.”
I smiled faintly. “Well, your son is going to give all his money to the one who gave birth. After all, for you, that’s the most important thing.”
She wasn’t willing to back down. “It’s better than spending money on a useless woman who can’t even have children! You’re just a hen that can’t lay eggs, what right do you have to say anything?”
I shook my head lightly, expressing both helplessness and sympathy. “I’ve already told you, your son has Azoospermia. The child in Helen’s womb definitely isn’t his. But you still refuse to believe it. There’s nothing I can do.“`
I deliberately brought up something that annoyed her.
Judith was so enraged by my words that she trembled all over, her face turning red.
She opened her mouth but couldn’t say a word, only pouting before turning and walking away without looking back.
