After sending that message, I blocked Blair. I did not hate her, and while her character might have been questionable, Shawn bore much of the responsibility.
Ironically, their relationship had led me to Nathaniel. Now all I wanted was to have our baby and build our love story after marriage.
When Nathaniel came home that evening, I caught him eating the leftover cake I had saved. I asked, “Is it good?”
“Not bad,” Nathaniel replied.
I nodded in agreement. “I thought so, too.”
Nathaniel made a mental note and casually asked, “Where did you buy it?”
“Dr. Aicker made it,” I explained.
Dr. Aicker was the handsome and witty doctor Nathaniel had hired at a premium to monitor my pregnancy. He happened to enjoy baking, and Tara had been trying to catch his attention lately.
“It’s terrible,” Nathaniel suddenly declared, tossing the cake aside with a complete change in attitude.
Leould only stare at him in disbelief.
The next day, Nathaniel and I visited my parents. They already knew I was pregnant, but since I had spent the last six months in Rosheria, I declined their offers to visit me.
When we left my parents‘ house, our car was packed with prenatal supplements. Since Nathaniel had not brought a driver, he had to load everything into the trunk himself while I stood by, contentedly sipping my bubble tea.
“Rowena,” a familiar voice suddenly called from behind.
I turned to find Shawn standing nearby, and his eyes were fixed on my obvious baby bump in shock. I froze, surprised to see him there.
Shawn had apparently run over, as he was out of breath and staring at my belly in disbelief. He exclaimed, ‘ What’s this? Rowena, what’s going on?”

He reached out as if to pull at my coat. Although I was bundled up in thick clothes, the rounded shape of my belly was still noticeable.
Nathaniel stepped in to stop him, warning him, “Shawn, she’s pregnant. Show some restraint.”
Shawn glanced at him. This time, he did not respectfully address him as “Uncle Nate“, but instead turned to me with reddened eyes. “Rowena, did you cheat on me?”
