Francis’s expression froze. “Why are you asking about that? You should be focusing on going to the hospital with me to apologize to Yelena and her parents instead!”
Since Francis refused to give him an answer, Samuel wanted to sidestep him. Francis closed his eyes.
“Catch him!”
A large group of people rushed in from outside and dragged him to the hospital.
Slap!
Martha slapped Samuel in the face. “Don’t you know what day it is?! How could you run away from your own wedding?! You’ve embarrassed both of our families!”
Bethany Jones, Yelena’s mother, had a dark expression. “Samuel, if you don’t want to marry my daughter, just say it. Why humiliate us at this moment? Are you trying to turn my daughter into a laughing stock?!”
Samuel clenched his fists and pursed his lips. He did not say a thing.
At that moment, someone opened the operating room’s door. The pale Yelena was lying in bed with her eyes shut.
Bethany ignored Samuel and hurried over to Yelena as she was pushed into a ward.
Martha glared at him coldly. “Why did you run from your wedding to look for Joy?”
When she remembered Samuel’s strange actions, a thought popped into her head. It was something barely conceivable.
“I…” Samuel clenched his fists even tighter. He did not know what to say.
What should he say? He had wanted to tell Joy to treat Yelena as her sister–in–law, but once he learned that she left, panic had overwhelmed his heart.

He wanted to find her.
But what was he going to do after finding her?
Suddenly, images of Joy’s various expressions resurfaced in his mind–her when she was happy, sad, and in despair. Then, there was the relieved look this morning.
Then, these images turned into the face she had when she summoned her courage to confess to him after he discovered her diary.
“Sammy, I love you!”
