Miles turned and walked back through the gate, leaving the distraught Kira to be half–dragged, half–pushed into a car, luggage and all, before being driven away.

I cheerfully walked beside him as we headed out for a stroll
The walk was pleasant.
The night breeze was gentle, and his presence was reassuring.
I found myself talking more than usual, while Miles said little, simply listening to my rambling with quiet attentiveness.
I didn’t ask why he was willing to go so far as to send Kira way just to stand by me.

The next day, I went to the hospital for a check–up and to have my ointments reapplied.
Dolly came to visit me. Seeing that I looked much better, she breathed a sigh of relief.
She glanced at Joseph and asked, “Is that him? Doesn’t seem like it.”
I quickly caught her misunderstanding. “That’s Dr. Watson. He’s the Wynn family’s doctor.”
“Ah, I see…” Dolly’s tone turned teasing. “Rich people really have it all, huh? Turns out those CEO romance novels weren’t lying after all…”
Flustered, I clamped a hand over her unfiltered mouth and lowered my voice. “Why are you here? Do you need something?
Dolly gave me a knowing look. “What, can’t I visit you just because? Tell me honestly–have you fallen head over heels for Mr. Wynn?”
My face flushed red with guilt.
“No! Don’t talk nonsense,” I stammered. “I haven’t! He’s just taking care of me because of my brother.”
Dolly’s expression grew increasingly odd. “Eve, do you really not know about your brother…”
I immediately became alert. “What about my brother?”
Dolly quickly changed the subject. “Nothing, nothing. Your brother’s doing great. I came here because I have some juicy gossip.”
I frowned. “What gossip?”
My instincts told me it was about Julian and Chloe again.

Honestly, Just hearing Jullan’s name made me feel exhausted.
The only thing on any mind right now was recovering quickly so I could hire a lawyer to sever ties with fullan for Food.
I didn’t even care about getting a share of his assets,
The thought of everything we had shared during those five years–our home, our possessions–and the fact that he had touched those things, made me lose all Interest.
Julian and Chloe had completely disgusted me.
Dolly glanced around conspiratorially before breaking into sly grin.
She pulled out her phone and waved it in front of me, looking smug “Guess what? Last night, Julian somehow got ahold of my WhatsApp and added me. But instead of getting what he wanted, I gave him a good scolding
I blinked.
Dolly didn’t notice my speechlessness as she gleefully scrolled through her chat history.
One look at the screen and I already wanted to avert my eyes. Just seeing his name made me feel dirty.
Looking as smug as a cat that got the cream, Dolly giggled. I brought up everything he’s ever done to you and let him have it. He must’ve been drinking–he tried to defend himself at first, but eventually, he just went quiet.”
She shoved her phone at me, forcing me to read through the endless string of insults she’d hurled at him.
I skimmed a few lines before pushing it back. “I don’t want to see it. So, what happened in the end? What did Julian say?”
Dolly grinned mischievously. “Not much. He didn’t really argue, but it seems like he still doesn’t believe Chloe’s capable of being such a manipulative snake. I told him to go verify it himself and I even sent him screenshots of Chloe’s posts from her private social media.”
I stared at her, stunned. “You actually have screenshots of Chloe’s posts?”
Dolly rolled her eyes. “What’s so surprising about that? Don’t you remember? You told me ages ago to make a dummy account and infiltrate her alumni network, pretending to be one of her old classmates. That account’s been on her friends list ever since.”
She smirked. “And a lot of those screenshots were ones you asked me to save back then. I just sent all of them to Julian.”
