Chapter 29
I remained speechless.
It was becoming painfully clear just how unhinged I must have been before losing my memory. I actually had. Dolly create a fake account to go undercover just to catch Julian cheating.
Honestly, with that kind of behavior, it wasn’t hard to see why Julian and everyone else around him disliked me.
I frowned, incredulous. “I even had you create a fake account? But wait, if I had her screenshots, why didn’t Julian believe me before?”
Dolly rolled her eyes so hard I thought they might stay that way. “Because you didn’t dare show them to him. You sent him one once, and Chloe turned it around on you, claling you photoshopped it to slander her. Julian believed her, not you.”
I was stunned. “I lost to Chloe just like that? Is Julian an idiot?”
Dolly sighed. “He’s not an idiot. He just doesn’t love you.
“That’s why it wouldn’t matter what you said. He still wouldn’t believe you. And I think, deep down, you always knew that. That’s why you didn’t try to use these screenshots to convince him.”
Her words hit like a punch to the gut, leaving me silent.
Yes, it was because he didn’t love me.
If he had, I wouldn’t have needed to prove anything.
A man who truly loved me would’ve distanced himself from Chloe simply because my feelings were hurt- evidence required.
I suddenly thought of Miles and how he had handled Kira the night before.
It was impossible not to draw a comparison.

The one sentence-“Your crying is going to scare Eve“-had shown me what it meant for someone to stand up for me with no questions asked.
My thoughts drifted for a moment.
Dolly waved a hand in front of my face. “What are you thinking about that’s got you smiling like that?”
I snapped back to reality. “Nothing. I was just thinking… Julian really is an idiot.”
Dolly scoffed. “No kidding!
I let out a bitter laugh. “Dolly, was I really that pathetic before?”
Her smile faded, and she stayed silent..
I gave a self–deprecating smile. “I get it. I must’ve been completely pathetic, groveling in the dirt for Julian’s attention.”
Dolly patted my shoulder. “Don’t worry. What goes around comes around. Julian will get what’s coming to him, and Chloe will reap what she’s sown.”
I shook my head. “I just want a divorce.”
Before Dolly could respond, another voice cut in.

“Miss White. You…”
I turned to see Chloe standing in the doorway of the examination room, her face frozen in shock.
I frowned. She was truly relentless.
She and Julian were a perfect match–always managing to how up at the worst times, saying and doing the most disgusting things.
Dolly, on the other hand, nearly jumped out of her seat like a cat bristling for a fight.
She stepped in front of Chloe, her tone sharp, “What are you doing here? I’m warning you, don’t try anything- I’ll record the whole thing if you do.”
Chloe flinched slightly but quickly straightened herself, attempting to look composed.
“I came to see you, Miss White,” she said graciously.
I didn’t bother to hide my distaste. “I’m sorry, but I don’t want to see you.”

Chloe’s tone softened, her words dripping with sincerity. “I think there’s been a misunderstanding about last night. 1-”
My gaze caught on the pink diamond glittering on her finger, and I couldn’t help but curl my lips into a smile.
Following my eyes, Chloe noticed the ring as well.
She hurriedly slid it off and extended it toward me. “Miss White, if it’s because of this ring Julian gave me, I can return it to you.”
I let out a quiet laugh. “Miss Clarke, that ring was a gift to you. I don’t want it in the slightest.”
Dolly stepped forward, blocking her path with a sneer. “Chloe, you’re disgusting. You came here flaunting that ring just to provoke Evelyn, didn’t you? Save yourself the trouble and leave.”
Chloe’s eyes turned red, her voice trembling. “Miss White, please, let me explain. This pink diamond isn’t-”
“Enough.” My tone was sharp as I cut her off. “Let me say this one last time: I no longer love Julian. Whether he gives you flowers, takes you to dinner, or shares a bed with you–I don’t care.”
I met her gaze, my anger simmering under my words. “Leave my sight and don’t show up again.”
Taking a deep breath, I forced myself to keep calm, my voice steady as I delivered the final blow. “I’m going to divorce him. If you want him, you can have him.”
