Chapter 7
Olivia looked at Joshua as if she had seen her savior.
She brushed aside the security guards holding her down and raised her bloodied finger toward me.
“Josh, look at how she treated me! She is so cruel! You have to divorce her!”
My heart sank at her words.
Although Olivia constantly boasted about how inuch Joshua loved her, she had hit upon a truth: she had not faced any real consequences for her actions after everything that had transpired.
This made me question whether Joshua still harbored any lingering feelings for her.
I made a silent decision. If he had even a shred of pity for Olivia, I would have no choice but to divorce him.
Fortunately, Joshua did not let me down.
He merely cast a cold glance at Olivia, then gently stroked my head as he said, “Hailey, you are too kind! If it were me, I would chop off all her fingers and feed them to the dogs!”
“You’re nuts! You’ve gone against me time and again for this woman!” Olivia screamed.
“Don’t you remember? You promised me that you would always stand by my side, that you loved me the most!”
In a fit of rage, Joshua lunged for Olivia’s throat.
“When will you stop treating me like a fool?
“In the past, you manipulated me without remorse, and I chose not to retaliate. But now that I’m divorced from you, what right do you have to repeatedly bully my wife?
“I’m telling you now. I don’t love you. I only love Hailey!”
Joshua took the document his assistant handed him and threw it in Olivia’s face.
“The total loss for the gallery is 3.68 million. Since you are my ex–wife, I’ll give you a discount–300,000 is all we’ll ask for.”
Olivia finally realized that Joshua wasn’t joking.
She clung to his leg and pleaded with him.
