Calmiel, who had been focusing on work, drew a sharp stro on the document after hearing his assistant’s remark
It was impossible. He had not seen Andrea’s corpse, but these death reports and death confirmations were real. They could not be faked. If it was really Andrea, his assistant would have seen a ghost.
Perhaps someone powerful bad faked Andrea’s death confirmation letter, but Andrea was an orphan with no friends, so who would have faked one for her?
Gabriel tossed his pen and looked at his assistant with a frown. “If you have bad eyesight, get a pair of glasses.”
He did not believe Andrea was dead at first. He spent most of his money and energy searching the world for traces of her. However, he gradually gave up and began to accept Andrea’s death after searching for so long with no
result.
However, when he was almost losing hope, his assistant told him that Andrea had appeared on the streets of France. Perhaps seeing that he did not believe it, the assistant showed him the photo he captured.
Looking at the familiar woman in the photo, Gabriel’s eyes reddened. He was sure it was Andrea. After all, they had been in love for ten years. He touched the photo with trembling hands. It had been a long time since he had seen Andrea.
In the first few days after Andrea’s death, he drank all night long, trying to get himself drunk so Andrea could appear in his dreams. Maybe she hated him so much that she did not want to meet him, even in his dreams.
She had now appeared in the photo. He had not seen her for over a year. She seemed younger, and her eyes were full of light, seemingly happier after leaving him.
The hope in Gabriel’s heart was reignited. He immediately looked up at his assistant. “Send someone to track her down.” He clutched the photo in his hand, deciding to never let her go again!
Before Gabriel’s men could track down Andrea, the Jenson family’s banquet started.
Huge crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling, illuminating the entire banquet like bright stars. The walls were filled with the Jenson family’s precious collections–each of which showed the Jenson family’s long history and wealth.
Under the bright lights, the faces of the aristocrats appeared more beautiful and charming. It was as if everyone here were the stars of the night.
Even though Gabriel had hosted and attended many banquets, he was still blown away by the sight before him. It was at this moment that he realized the difference between the rich and the aristocrats.
Anthony was in his arms, holding Gabriel’s neck as he looked around cautiously for fear that someone would suddenly come up and scold him.
Gabriel coaxed him for a long time to bring him to the banquet, even showing him Andrea’s photo earlier and telling him that she would be here tonight.
