“Fine,” I agreed.
Pierce beamed and immediately sent a message to the group chat.

Within seconds, someone replied.
It was Leslie.
“No way! For real? Don’t mess with me, Pierce!”
Before I could react, Pierce threw an arm around me, snapped a quick selfie, and sent it to the chat.
In the photo, I was caught mid–surprise, mouth slightly open, staring straight at the camera.
“Hey!” I started, but it was too late.
Pierce already posted the picture.
I sighed and shook my head.
Whatever.
It wasn’t like there was anyone in that chat I still cared about.
When I got back to Kian’s place, he wasn’t home yet.
After showering, I lay down, thinking about the reunion.
I was nervous. But also, strangely excited.
The next morning, Kian was already at the table having breakfast.
“I’ll go with you to get your stitches removed today.”
“You don’t have to, boss. I can handle it myself. After that, might go to the class reunion.”
“Class reunion?”
“Yeah.” I nodded.
“Alright. Don’t drink. Come home early.”
After getting my stitches removed, the doctor examined me and said I was healing well.
“How have you been feeling lately?”
“Severe insomnia,” I admitted.
The doctor studied me for a moment before saying, “Mr. Hart, I have a friend who’s a psychologist. I can introduce you to him. He might be able to help with your sleep issues.”
I looked up, meeting his gaze.
His eyes were warm, the kind of genuine warmth that belonged to someone who truly wanted to help.
I smiled and nodded. “Thanks, doctor. I’ll consider it.”
After taking his business card, I hailed a cab and headed straight to the reunion.
The whole ride there, a mix of nerves and anticipation churned in my stomach.
I kept adjusting my clothes, checking if my shoes matched nd if my watch looked right.
By the time I arrived at the high–end restaurant in the city center, my palms were slightly damp.

Chapter 6
As soon as I stepped out of the caf, I spotted Pierce at the entrance.
“Sora! Over here!”
I walked up to him, and we bumped fists in greeting.
“Some of the others are already here. Come on in.”
I hesitated for a second, feeling a little awkward about walking in alone.
Pierce seemed to pick up on it.
With a grin, he clapped a hand on my shoulder and casually slung an arm around me.
And just like that, he led me inside.
