I scoffed in derision. “Did you really think I only had one copy of the footage? I already gave it to the police.”
Dominic’s face drained of color, far more panic than he had shown at the car crash.

He pointed at me, cursing under his breath, clearly too rattled to deal with me any longer.
As he stormed off, phone in hand, I caught bits of his conversation–begging someone for help, offering a 200–thousand designer bag like it was pocket change to smooth things over for Paige.
I wasn’t about to let him spend my money to do favors for his mistress.
The moment he left, I called the bank and canceled his access to my card.
Not even an hour passed before my phone blew up with calls from him. I blocked his number without a second thought and then
drove home.
The sight of Paige’s things cluttering the house made my blood boil.
I called a moving company and had everything–hers and Dominic’s–thrown out. Then, I contacted a real estate agent and told
him to sell the place.
When Dominic rushed over, the movers were busy tossing out his and Paige’s belongings. His face flushed red with anger.
In the past, he would have immediately laid into me with his usual scolding. This time, he swallowed his temper.
He actually tried being gentle, which was rare. “Carlee, your secondary bank card isn’t working. Can I borrow your main one for a
bit?”
“It’s not broken. I canceled it.”
He frowned. “Why would you cancel it out of the blue? Call the bank and unfreeze it. I need the money.”
I shot him a mocking look. “So, you want to use your wife’s money to support your mistress? And now you’re asking for more to
bail out a murderer? Dominic, have you no shame?”
He furrowed his brow, clearly offended. Regardless, I had to give it to him. He still had the nerve to defend himself. “It’s your
fault for flaunting your wealth all the time. You always ‘help‘ Paige in a way that crushes her pride like you’re above her when you
pay for her tuition and living expenses. It’s no wonder she resented you and wanted revenge. Sure, she’s at fault, but the real
problem is you!”
