is holding a meeting here.”
Merla was so anxious that her voice cracked. “Then why aren’t you leaving?! If you want to die, don’t drag me down with you!”

Die?
I could not help but chuckle, my eyes glinting with cold amusement.
“If I leave, who’s going to host the meeting?”

At that moment, the leading mafia guard strode forward, swiftly removing his hat and bowing slightly. His tone was respectful as he greeted, “Queen Nicole, we hope we haven’t kept you waiting.”
Merla’s face was drained of all color.
I turned to look at her, chuckling softly. “Not at all. You’re right on time.”
The crowd erupted.
“What the… Did you hear what he just called her?!”
“If I’m not mistaken… he said ‘Queen‘?”
“No way. If the Genovese Family’s core members treats her like this… who the hell is
Nicole?!”
Merla’s face was ashen, cold sweat dripping down her forehead. Her lips trembled, but no
sound came out.
Just then, the low growl of an approaching engine cut through the night. Headlights pierced the darkness.
Harry Reno, heir to the Reno Family and Merla’s fiance, finally arrived.
I stepped in front of him, my gaze like ice. “Harry, the Reno Family sure has some nerve to try and smash my car.”
“What?” Before I even finished speaking, Harry’s gaze landed on the old Ford parked nearby.
Though the car itself looked intact from a distance, the paint chips scattered across the

ground told the story of what had just happened.
Without hesitation, Harry bowed toward me. “Queen Nicole, I will investigate this matter immediately. Such an incident should never have occurred on my turf.”
I waved a hand dismissively. “No need. The culprit is right here.”
Merla flinched at my words, then hesitantly stepped forward. “Um… my dear fiance, you must be mistaken. Nicole was just a cheerleader from my high school. How could she possibly be the Queen of the Mafia?
“I mean, we’ve known each other since high school. If she had any sort of background, wouldn’t I know?”
Even at this point, Merla clung to a sliver of hope. As far as she knew, I was just an ordinary office worker, barely scraping by at the bottom of society.
The truth was, right after graduating high school, I had learned that I was the sole heir of the Genovese Family. The family had gone to great lengths to find me.
If it were not for Dolly’s repeated invitations, I would not have even bothered making time for this reunion.
Harry listened to Merla’s rambling explanation in silence.
Then…
With a cold smirk, he raised his hand and delivered a vicious slap!
The sharp crack echoed in the night.
Merla staggered backward, a bright red handprint blooming across her cheek.
Harry’s tone was frigid. “You’ve got some nerve. You dare lay a hand on a Genovese Family car. Are you tired of living?”
Merla did not even have time to defend herself before Harry continued coldly, “Where’s your car?”

Trembling, Merla pointed toward a nearby Bugatti.
Harry did not spare it a single glance. He simply lifted his chin and uttered two words.
“Smash it.
Without hesitation, the mercenaries stepped forward, swinging their bats at the multi- million–dollar supercar.
Glass shattered. Metal crumpled. The car alarm blared through the night.
“Stop! Stop!” Merla screamed, trying to rush forward, but Harry grabbed her by the wrist, yanking her back effortlessly.
“Listen up.” His voice was devoid of emotion. “Move one more time, and I’ll deal with you myself.”
Merla’s expression crumbled into sheer despair.
Not long ago, she had flaunted her luxury car, boasting about its worth.
At this moment? All she could do was watch helplessly as it was reduced to scrap metal.
“And one more thing.” Harry released her, adjusting his cufflinks, his expression distant. “Our engagement is canceled.”
Merla’s heart plummeted into an abyss of ice.
“Harry…” She reached out with trembling hands, trying to salvage the situation. “Darling, my father is an elder of the Ivanov Family. How can you just call off our engagement like that?”
Listening to their exchange, I could not hold back a laugh.
“Merla, Merla…”
I raised my gaze slowly, lips curling into a mocking smile.
“It doesn’t matter who backs you… This car was meant to be smashed.

“And this engagement? It was meant to
end.”
