“Sir, perhaps you should first ask your daughter why she smashed my car.”

Merla rolled her eyes, her tone arrogant. “I smashed it, so what? What can you do about it? Don’t think that just because you have a few bodyguards with guns, you’re someone important. My dad has dined with Mafia bosses! Every family leader has to give him some respect!”
The air instantly froze.
Merla’s father turned deathly pale, looking as if he wanted to slap her right then and there.
Alas, Merla remained oblivious, even tilting her chin up proudly. “Dad, what are you waiting for? Make her pay up!”
Her father took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing his rage, though his voice was already trembling. “Ms. Nicole, which car is yours?”
I casually pointed behind me. “That one. The old Ford.”
He followed my gesture. The moment his eyes landed on it, his entire body seemed to freeze. His mouth fell slightly open.
“The… Genovese family’s boss?!”
I let out a soft chuckle, glancing at Merla before replying slowly, “At least someone here has a good eye and recognized it immediately. Unlike your daughter, who spent twenty whole minutes trying to destroy it and still didn’t succeed.”
Merla still looked completely clueless, unable to understand why her father suddenly
seemed so shaken.
In her father’s mind, he was already scrambling.
Genovese… A name with absolute power. The one who had just taken over was a woman,
too…
The moment he put the pieces together, all the color drained from his face. His body
swayed as if he was about to collapse, barely able to stand.

His eyes, filled with terror, locked onto me. Even his voice trembled. “Ms. Nicole… M–may I know your last name?”
I smiled even wider, snapping my fingers lightly. “Genovese.”
He staggered, nearly falling to his knees if not for his driver catching him just in time.
Merla, completely oblivious to the impending disaster, clung to his arm, shaking him nonstop. “Dad, what’s wrong with you? Say something! What Genovese Mafia Queen? She’s just a minor boss! What’s there to be scared of?”
The moment those words left her mouth, the entire room fell into dead silence.
Even her father’s driver looked like he had seen a ghost.
Smack!
A sharp slap landed across Merla’s face.
She was stunned, clutching her cheek in disbelief as she stared at her father.
“Dad… You hit me?”
Merla’s father looked ghastly pale, his eyes were filled with utter despair.
Stiffly, he turned. With a heavy thud, he fell to his knees before me, pressing his forehead to the ground, his voice shaking uncontrollably.
“Noble Queen, it was my failure as a father that led to this offense. I beg you, please have mercy on Merla just this once. I swear, I will personally make her pay for her foolishness today!”
Chapter 8
I coldly watched Merla and her father, and I let out a sigh.
“Well, it seems you still don’t understand what I meant. When I said to handle it, I didn’t mean compensating for the damage. I simply wanted to see how a father disciplines his daughter.
“I’ll give you one more chance. If your way of handling this doesn’t satisfy me, then don’t blame me for taking matters into my own hands.”
Truthfully, I was already being lenient, considering we were former classmates. I just wanted to teach Merla a lesson.
I never expected that Merla would still refuse to back down.
She suddenly pulled a gun from her clothes and pointed it at me.
“Nicole! Don’t push me too far! I’ve met plenty of big shots…”
Before she could finish, a fleet of luxurious black cars instantly surrounded her. My mercenaries moved so fast that she did not even have time to react before they snatched the gun from her hand. Within seconds, a few strong men had her tied up.
Even then, Merla was still so brazen. She screamed hysterically, “Dad! They’re bullying your precious daughter! Hurry up and have them all shot! Didn’t you always say there’s no problem you can’t solve? Why are you backing down now?!
“And Harry! I’m your fiancee! Get that woman for me! You’re the heir of the Reno family. How can you be scared of her?!”
The more she spoke, the more agitated she became. Finally, she yelled in front of everyone, “Nicole never talks in our class group chat, and she never picks up the phone. After all these years, how did she suddenly become some Mafia Queen? She’s obviously a fraud! What are you all afraid of?!”

up on her completely.
“It’s my fault for spoiling you. The Genovese family is the head of the Four Major Families! They have the most powerful mercenary army and the most extravagant fleet!
“And the old Ford you smashed earlier? I don’t even qualify to open the door of that car. Do you understand now?”
As soon as Merla’s father said this, our former classmates‘ expressions shifted from initial
disdain to admiration.
Especially Conway. While I spoke with Merla’s father, he had already sent me more than a few flirtatious glances.
Disgusting.
I walked up to Merla with a cold smile on my face. “Didn’t you say this was your turf? Today, I’ll remove this tumor from it.
“Damaging the Genovese family’s combat supplies, and attempting to assassinate its leader… Either one of these crimes is enough to send you to hell.
“But killing someone like you would only stain my family’s reputation. Instead, I’ll lock you up in the basement and let you reflect on your actions.”
With that, Merla immediately fell to her knees, sobbing.
“Queen Nicole! I was wrong! Please give me another chance! I won’t dare to do it again!”
I smiled and shook my head.
“Merla, how many chances have I already given you? Have you forgotten? You and your clique bullied me, and that was the first time. You smashed my car, that was the second
time. You calling your father for help was the third.
“Do you know why our classmates always sucked up to you at social gatherings? It’s not

how to curry favor. That’s all.”
Merla’s father silently watched as my mercenaries dragged her away.
He knew very well just how badly Merla had screwed up today. If he dared to utter even a single word of protest, his entire family would be wiped from existence.
After dealing with Merla, I turned toward the crowd and looked at Dolly.
“Dolly, when Merla insulted me earlier, you were the only one who stood up for me.
“I’m not someone who forgets kindness. Consider this a favor I owe you.
“If you ever find yourself in trouble, just take this badge. Anyone from the Genovese family will come to help you.”
I placed a badge engraved with the Genovese family crest into Dolly’s hand.
Then, I swept my gaze over the rest of our former classmates, who stood there awkwardly,
unsure what to do.
“You all received higher education. Sucking up to the cheerleader in school was one thing, but even as adults, you still blindly follow power and turn against an old classmate?
“Since we were classmates, I’ll let this slide once. But there won’t be a next time.
“From now on, between us…”
I deliberately dragged out my words before finishing with a smirk.
“We’re strangers.”
