Mrs. Williams had returned to Alex’s house earlier than he has thought, his initial thought was that his mother had left his. house finally for hers but seeing her return wasn’t something he expected; it’s not even up to an hour since she left —why is she back?
“Did you forget something here, mother?” He asked, his question sounding as his own way of welcoming his mother but Mrs. Williams did not say anything in reply as she stood a few feet away from him, sparing him an unknown look. “It doesn’t seems like you forgot something, are you crashing in here then? For tonight? For the main time do you can watch me closely?”
Mrs. Williams snickered, taking a seat before Alex. “Don’t be silly with those insensible questions you are asking.” She remarked, a sly smile tugging at the corner of her lips. “If I want to watch you, I don’t have to stay with you. I can watch your closely even though I’m faraway, I’ve been doing this since you were a child.”
“I’m sorry, my bad!” Alex blurted out, sarcasm laced in his voice. “How did I forgot the type of woman you are so sudden? You just do as you want, I won’t be bothered.”
Mrs. Williams nodded curtly, silence followed afterward. Mrs. Williams had purposely made the silence uncomfortable between herself and her son before decided to speak again. after several minutes. “I met with Rosy today.” She dropped, patiently waiting for her son’s reaction.

As expected, Alex eyes flared up, anger, surprise and frustration showing on his face. “What did you do to her?” He asked in a demanding tone. “What did you say to her? Did you threaten her like you did to me? I asked you to stay away from her!”
“Did I threaten her…?” Mrs. Williams repeated Alex’s question. and sounded as though she’s enough having fun. “Who knows if I did threaten her? But I must say, Alex, you’ve got a pretty big catch for yourself. I can see why you are head over heels for her, I would too if I happen to be a man.”
Alex did not hide his obfuscation, his left brows raised in a questioning manner. “What do you mean?” He asked her but she shrugged her shoulders slowly. “What did you two talked about?”
“You should the determination in her eyes, I almost thought she was glaring at me. Her eyes alone could send chills down anyone’s spine!” Mrs. Williams emphasized, entertaining herself at the expense of Alex’s curiosity. “She is way too different from Lisa, it’s really screaming all over her. I’m curious to know more about her, should I give it a try?”
“Don’t, mom…!” Alex blurted out immediately, overwhelmed. “Don’t go near her ever again, mom. You shouldn’t have any business with her. You’ve got a beef, deal with it with me instead, leave Rosy out of it!”

Mrs. Williams was quick to cut Alex off his thoughts and expectation.“–but you should think it twice, son.” She
continued after few seconds of silence. “Remember, unlike me, you have a lot to lose if you insist on being with Rosy. It’s just a little reminder, son!”
“And you will be losing something as well if you don’t allow me be with Rosyl!” Alex replied after his mother, sounding as cold as he can. He felt he needed to pin something on his mother just like she’s doing to him.
Mrs. Williams stopped on her track. “We’ll see how things goes…” She countered in a stern voice before leaving. She did not bother to wait for Alex’s reply nor turn back to see his reply, it would mean nothing to her.
Alex, on the other hand, sighed out heavily, releasing his breath he never realized he was holding. His mother’s presence most. time do send chills down his spine just like what happened a few moments ago. He had known his mother for long and this made him have a second thought.
He wondered if it’s okay it to go against his mother for the feelings that he’s not really sure of, if it really worth it at all. After Lisa left him, he realized his feelings for Rosy has been wavering and he’s yet to understand what’s happening to him.
“Would it be fine to sacrifice everything he’s ever worked for.for such feelings?“He thought within himself, unsure of what to do. He’s come this long and going back on his decision shouldn’t be what’s supposed to be on his mind, this might be his only chance of breaking free from his mother, he can’t lose it!

His phone begin to ring, snapping him off his train of thought. At first, he hesitated to pick the call but on seeing who the caller is, he had no choice than to pick it up. He can’t ignore her even in a tight situation and this won’t be exceptional it was Rosy.
“Hey there, Alex…” She called from the other end as soon as he put the phone on his ear.
“Uhm… Hey, Rosy.” He replied, making sure he did not sound as bothered as he was at that moment, he didn’t want to bother her for no reason. “You okay?”
“What…?” Rosy was caught off guard, Alex had never asked her such question before. “What do you mean? Were you expecting something to happen to me?”
Alex realized he wasn’t supposed to ask her such question. “Uh, no. Not at all. It’s just that I heard my mother met with you a while ago, I’m worried.” He replied slowly, running his hand through his hair. “Is that why you are calling? What did you both talked about?”
“It’s nothing much to be worried about, I guess it’s sorted out.” She told him in reply. “I’m calling because I miss seeing your face, I don’t think I can spend the rest of my life without you by my side, Alex.”
“I know.” He replied nervously, scratching the back of his head slowly. “I think I have something to tell you; something you might want to hear, Rosy, it’ll help us.”
Rosy wondered what Alex has in stock, claiming it will be a benefit to both of them. She stared into the empty space before her approvingly as though Alex was before her, her ears aching to hear whatever he has in store for her, she urged him on. “Go
