Alexander smoothed his suit jacket with casual elegance, get Into the driver’s seat of his G–Wagon, and quickly started the engine.
As Travis tried to get up and chase them, a sharp pain shot through his stomach.
James only dared approach after Alexander had left, rushing to help Travis up with concerned questions.
“Are you alright, Mr. Graham?”
Travis clutched his stomach, eyebrows knitted in pain, watching the car until it disappeared from view. Then he suddenly turned to glare at James.
“Where the hell were you?”
James looked sheepish, stammering, “Sir, that was Alexander Hayes. I couldn’t get involved with someone that powerful.”
Travis’s face was pale as he waved it off. “The meeting.”
Graham Enterprise’s Kingston Tower and Hayes Plaza, the respective headquarters of both companies, dominated the South Bay CBD of the city.
In this prime real estate area where every inch was worth its weight in gold, the two buildings occupied most of the district, locked in an eternal rivalry.
Though Nicole was William Graham’s adopted granddaughter, she had never been involved in Graham Enterprises, ‘ operations. Combined with Travis’s deliberate concealment of their marriage, she hadn’t even known the company headquarters was in South Bay CBD.
That’s how today’s scene had happened.
In the conference room, the executives noticed Travis’s ashen face but didn’t dare ask if he was feeling unwell.
After the meeting, Travis was sweating from the persistent pain in his abdomen.
James rushed to support him. “Sir, you look terrible. Should we go to the hospital?”
Travis gritted his teeth, checking the time. “There’s a business dinner later. We’ll deal with it after.”
The Splendor Hotel was a luxury establishment combining accommodation, dining, fitness, medical facilities, shopping, and business venues.
Alexander requested a VIP room, but Nicole refused when she saw the six–figure price tag, choosing instead to sit in the main dining room.
Understanding her desire to save money, Alexander agreed and reserved two tables in the main hall.
They chatted while waiting for the others to arrive.
The dinner served two purposes: celebrating Nicole’s retum to single life and introducing her to her new research team colleagues.
Once everyone arrived, Alexander ordered the food. After the meal, he briefly introduced Nicole’s background.
“She’s a Harvard Medical School graduate, specializing in brain and cardiothoracic surgery. Two years ago, she saved a senior government official who had a heart attack during a meeting.”
The group was visibly impressed.,
