Alexander raised his foot to kick Travis again, but the woman in his arms said, “Please put me down.” “You’re not feeling well. Don’t move around,” Alexander said, concerned as he looked at Nicole’s pale face.
“It’s okay, I can manage.” Nicole was already struggling to get down from Alexander’s arms.
Alexander reluctantly and carefully lowered her to the ground.
As soon as her feet touched the floor, Nicole’s legs felt weak She turned and asked Alexander to support her.
Alexander nodded, his right hand politely and carefully holding Nicole’s uninjured arm.
Watching Nicole slowly walk toward him, Travis removed his hand from his stomach and gradually straightened
- up.
“See? I told you. All I have to do is beckon her, and she’ll come crawling back.”
Travis looked smugly at Alexander, his eyes full of arrogance and conceit.
Alexander clenched his jaw without speaking, carefully supporting Nicole until they reached Travis.
Nicole signaled for Alexander to let go of her. He was still worried about her condition, but when he saw the determination in her eyes, he reluctantly released her hand.
After steadying herself, Nicole tilted her head up to look at Travis, raised her uninjured arm, and slapped him hard across his handsome face!
“Smack!”
The loud slap echoed crisply throughout the spacious room
Travis’s face stung. He covered the spot with his hand, asking in disbelief, “Nicole, you dare to slap me?”
When nine–year–old Travis first met six–year–old Nicole, he had immediately pushed away the dirty little girl.
The small girl fell to the ground and timidly looked up, sneaking glances at the handsome young Travis, only to lower her head in fear when he gave her an icy stare.
Young Travis’s push earned him a sound beating from William.
Despite the punishment, Travis never stopped bullying Nicole.
And Nicole seemed to accept it passively. Whenever Travis bullied her, instead of getting angry, she would smile and say, “Travis, please don’t be mad at me, okay? I’m afraid you’ll ignore me
Throughout the years that followed, Travis took bullying Nicole for granted.
Now, suddenly being slapped by her made him feel completely uncomfortable, with rage boiling and burning in his chest.
“Travis Graham, I slapped you because you deserved it!” Nicole stared at Travis’s shocked face and enunciated each word clearly. “This is what you’ve owed me.”
After saying these words, all strength left Nicole’s body.
She had to grab Alexander’s hand, saying in a weak voice, take me away. I don’t want to see him ever again.”

“Alright, I’ll take you right now.” Alexander picked up the unsteady woman once more, shot Travis a cold glance, and turned to leave.
Seeing the woman about to disappear from his sight and leave this house, Travis instinctively got up to grab her hand, but was quickly kicked away again by the quick–acting Alexander.
“Back off!” Alexander growled. “Mr. Graham, are you regretting it now? Too late!”
Travis lay sprawled on the cold floor, stubbornly lifting his head. “How could I possibly regret anything? I just don’t want this woman to have it easy, because she ruined Lucy’s life!”
Alexander chuckled and shook his head. “Mr. Graham, in my eyes, a hundred Lucys don’t compare to Nicole! Since you love Lucy so much, you should be happy that Nicole has finally let you two be together!”
With those words, Alexander carried Nicole away with long strides.
Travis painfully craned his neck to watch their retreating figures, lying on the ground with his body instinctively curled into a ball.
