Isabella’s POV

The hospital room felt both foreign and familiar. My body was heavy, my mind foggy from the drugs they had forced into my system. But the moment I felt my mother’s warm hand gripping mine, something inside me snapped back to reality.

I wasn’t alone. Not anymore.

Enzo Rossi, my birth father, stood by the window, his jaw tight with restrained fury. His expensive suit was slightly wrinkled—a rare sight for a man of his stature. Bianca, my mother, looked as if she hadn’t stopped crying for hours, her eyes red-rimmed, yet filled with relief as she brushed my hair back gently.

“You’re safe now, Isabella,” she whispered.

Safe.

The word felt foreign. When was the last time I had felt truly safe? Not in Vincent’s mansion. Not even when I had still foolishly believed in his love.

I swallowed hard, my throat dry. “What happened?” My voice was barely more than a croak.

My father turned to face me, his eyes dark with barely contained rage. “They tried to take everything from you. But they didn’t succeed.”

My hands instinctively went to my stomach.

Empty.

A sharp pang tore through my chest as I realized the truth. My baby—my child—was gone. Stolen from me. Vincent had let it happen. No, he had caused it.

Tears blurred my vision, but I refused to let them fall. Not now. Not when I was surrounded by people who actually cared. “I should have known,” I whispered. “I should have left sooner.”

Bianca’s hand tightened around mine. “It’s not your fault. Don’t ever blame yourself for what those monsters did.”

Enzo stepped closer, his voice like steel. “You don’t need to worry about the Falcones anymore. They will regret ever laying a hand on you.”

A shiver ran down my spine at the promise in his words. The Rossi family wasn’t just any family. They were powerful in ways even the Falcones couldn’t imagine. I had been raised among criminals, but my birth family? They were something else entirely.

I took a deep breath, steeling myself. “What happens now?”

Enzo’s lips curled into a smirk, but his eyes held a deadly gleam. “Now, we make them pay.”

Bianca touched my cheek, her expression softer but no less determined. “You have a choice, Isabella. You can start fresh, far away from all of this. We can take you anywhere in the world, away from the pain and betrayal.”

A fresh start.

For a moment, I considered it. Running away, leaving behind everything that had broken me. But then I thought of Rosa, still basking in her stolen victory. I thought of Vincent, who had claimed to love me while betraying me in the cruelest way possible. I thought of the child I lost because of them.

No.
