Griffith searched every corner of the castle, calling my name, but no matter where he looked, I was nowhere to be found.
Then, suddenly, he remembered the enchanted transmitter he had given me. He muttered a spell under his breath, activating it-
only to find it sitting untouched on the bedside table.
Not only had I left the transmitter behind, but everything else he had ever given me.
A quiet panic settled in his chest.
His mind raced, piecing together the possibilities. Then, as if struck by a sudden realization, he called for a servant.
“The last time Ellia fainted… where did you find her?”
“Sir, I discovered Luna Ellia unconscious near the corner of the greenhouse,” the servant answered without hesitation.
His worst fear confirmed, Griffith’s legs nearly gave out. He collapsed into a chair, his breath unsteady.
“Alpha, why did you run back all of a sudden? The ceremony was halted because of you!”
Giselle’s voice cut through the silence as she finally caught up, her footsteps slower, her frustration evident. The moment she laid eyes on him, she wasted no time in complaining.
