Chapter 22
The crying sounds came out of the door. Gabriel, who was atside, subconsciously rushed in, but almost bumped into Anches who just came out.
Andrea looked at him. “Let’s talk. Have the nurse accompany him first.”
In the lounge at the end of the hallway, Andrea looked at the man in front of her and felt emotional. “Gabriel, why did you have an affair?”
On the day she learned that Gabriel had an affair, she did a lot of thinking. She wondered if it was her, the outside world, or him, but she could not figure out why he wanted to cheat.
If he was tired of her and stopped loving her, he could tell her. Why did he go behind her back to Hannah? She did not understand, nor could she figure it out.
His expression stiffened. He had wondered about the first thing she would say, but he did not expect her to ask this question. How should he explain? He had forgotten why he cheated over time. However, he knew full well that it was he who caused their marriage to break up and his son to go astray.
Andrea did not expect him to answer her. She just looked out the window and calmly added, “Gabriel, let me tell you a secret. I had a mission to win you over.
‘Although it was a mission, I still gave my whole heart and soul. Since I fell for you, I refused to go home after the end of the mission and resolutely stayed to marry you and have children with you.”
It was why the system laughed at her back then. Among everyone who did the missions, she was the first to stay for love. The system had persuaded her that the ones before her did not hesitate to leave with their reward after they succeeded.
It was because they knew why fairy tales ended after the wedding–married life was not that wonderful. Besides, if they could easily win over someone, it means that others could do the same. Moreover, the system also rehearsed their ending if they stayed, which was either separation or death.
Andrea was happy with Gabriel at the time, thinking that someone who could sacrifice his life for her could not be that bad. However, later she realized that no matter how much the person loved her, he would still cheat and fall in love with someone else.
Gabriel clenched his hands tightly as his mouth trembled a few times.
He pondered, ‘It’s no wonder. I knew it! Andrea has always been healthy. After giving birth, she had a nutritionist to give her treatments. How could she suddenly get sick? If she came here with a mission and is suddenly back, does that mean…‘ He suddenly looked up at her.
She did speak as he wished. “I did come back because of you and Anthony.”
Gabriel’s eyes lit up instantly.
However, Andrea’s face suddenly darkened again. “I left too hastily and didn’t make things clear to you. I came back this time to make it clear to you. We won’t have anything to do with each other after this.”
His face instantly turned gloomy, and his eyes filled with pain. “Andrea…”
“Gabriel, we wouldn’t be together even if those things hadn’t happened. Suffering once is enough. From the moment you treated Hannah as a confidant, our marriage had no future.”
After saying that, she stopped looking at him and walked out. The wind was a little cold late at night. Andrea looked at the night view outside the car window with a complicated gaze.

Quinten hurged her quietly, and the two looked at each other in silence.
After returning home, a little girl in pink suddenly rushed down. “Mom!”
Andrea caught Ellie steadily, picked her up, and kissed her face. “Ellie, it’s late. Why are you still awake?”
Ellie hugged her neck and shook her head. “I can’t sleep without you.”
Quinton changed his shoes and came over, touching Ellie’s head. “How about we tell you a story?”
