I hadn’t expected Jasper to be so shameless. He actually spread news on the Internet about holding a wedding for me.
It was a funny story, now that I came to think about it. When he proposed back then, we had gotten our marriage registered immediately.
It just so happened that he had been busy with work, and he could never seem to make time to have the wedding. When he finally had time, he was targeted by his enemy, who got revenge on him.
I had taken a knife attack for him and broken my leg. I’d lain in bed for half a year and taken another half a year for rehabilitation.
The wedding had ended up being shelved, and we didn’t even take any wedding photos.
He had once promised me that when the company had developed and become large, he would give me a grand wedding of the century and make me the happiest woman in the world.
However, he did not even mention the wedding again after that.
I didn’t want there to be any regrets for us, so I kept hinting to him about having a wedding. He would always pretend not to understand or change the subject and gloss over it.
There were several times when I sulked because of this, and he stopped indulging me. He started accusing me of being materialistic and wanting to show off.
“We’ve registered our marriage already. We’re an old married couple. Why do we have to go through with all those superficial things?”
I was hurt deeply by his remark, and I returned to my own home at once.
Jasper only came to coax me back after seven days. He gave the excuse of being on a business trip as the reason for why it had taken him so long to come and bring me home.
He had mumbled that he would find a time to have the wedding, but it was indefinitely postponed, and he wouldn’t give me a specific date.
He knew that I really wanted to have a wedding, but he still kept taking me to the weddings of other people.
When he saw me being touched to tears and how envious I was about the happiness of other people at their weddings, he made fun of me for being so corny.
However, he had plenty of time to have a wedding. He just didn’t want to give me one.
When I found out I was pregnant, I called Jasper at once to share the good news with him.
I called several times, but no one answered. Finally, I got a call back, but it was a woman who spoke. “Hello, who’s this? Jaspie is trying on suits.”
