The two of them glared at each other, neither willing to back down.
“Can you stop now?” I said angrily and anxiously. My voice was starting to choke up.
Hansen’s face was dark as he said, “Christine, you saw it too. Landon was the one who punched me first. I won’t let what happened today go.”
“Yes, he did start the fight. Mr. Fullerton, I’ll have him apologize to you. We’ll cooperate with whatever you need to resolve this,” I said
“Christine, he’s the one who started insulting…” Landon protested.
I gently pressed his hand and said calmly, “Mr. Fullerton, Iapologize on Landon’s behalf.”
“Christine, are you really going to protect him like this?” Hansen asked.
Hansen slowly stepped forward. “Christine, he hit me first.
“So, how do you want to resolve this?” I asked.
“Christine, I’m hurt.” Hansen pointed to his face. “See this bruise? It really hurts…”
1 glanced at him and said calmly. “Then I’ll call an ambulance for you. We’ll cover all the medical expenses.”
“Christine, you know that’s not what I want.” Hansen tried to pull me over, but I avoided his hand.
“Christine…” The emotions Hansen had been holding back finally came out.
He looked at me with so much sorrow and grief.
Yet, it did not cause my heart to waver at all.
Suddenly, Landon let out a hiss of pain. “Christine, do you think this will scar my face?”
I hurriedly turned around. His lip was split and his check was swollen.
There was even blood on his jaw. It did look quite bad.
I took out some tissues and gently wiped the blood from his skin.
“Christine, gently, gently…” Landon winced dramatically.
“Serves you right.” I scolded him softly, but my movements were gentler. “You’ll need some stitches at the hospital.”
“Then come with me, I’m scared of needles,” Landon said.
