Kevin had stayed up for a few nights in succession, so he was stewing in annoyance at the moment.
“Since your daughter has gone missing, shouldn’t you be looking for her on your own? What’s the point in looking for me? I’m in

My father was too anxious to pay attention to Kevin’s impatient tone. “Aren’t you a forensic doctor? I want to lodge a police
report! Hurry up and go find Mich! She really has gone missing! It has been a few days since she last answered my phone calls!”
Kevin’s impatience grew exponentially. His expression had gone stormy at that moment.
“Your daughter sent me a farewell message before going missing. Missing people do not pull this stunt at all. She’s just gone into
hiding.
“Also, I’m a forensic doctor, not a policeman. I’m in charge of death cases, not missing people’s cases. One more thing–once
your daughter shows up, I’ll break up with her. From now on, don’t come crying to me about her matters. I will never use my
work resources just to help her out!” 2
I yearned to hear more of my parents‘ voices, but Kevin chose to hang up at that time. I screamed at Kevin to call them back
because I didn’t want my parents to spend the rest of their lives crying over me. Alas, no one could hear my voice.
Kevin turned around to look behind him in confusion. “I keep having a feeling that someone’s behind me.”
Then, he stared at my body for a while. Suddenly, he picked up a necklace from my neck.
His actions caught me off guard. I didn’t expect the necklace to remain intact after the explosion.
This was a gift given to me by Kevin on my birthday. He should be able to recognize it, right?
William approached Kevin and asked, “Is there something wrong with the necklace, Kevin?”
Kevin shook his head. “I just have a feeling that it looks quite familiar.”
A policewoman glanced at the necklace. “Oh, that’s normal. That necklace’s design is extremely common.”
Upon hearing her words, Kevin put down the necklace before moving to deal with other work.
I just chuckled coldly. Right, I almost forgot what happened that day.
Kevin and I went out for dinner on my birthday. While he had forgotten all about my birthday, the restaurant was kind enough to present me with a birthday cupcake.
After dinner, Kevin went to a random store and bought me a necklace, claiming that it was my birthday gift. He never put his
