In the end, Jasmine seemed to have arrived at the conclusion that Shawn truly hadn’t the slightest intention to forgive her.
Her hopes dashed, she suddenly started cackling, shrill and deranged. “Why are you acting like a devoted lover now, huh? Am I really the one who killed Astrea and Aster? No, it was you! You’re the one who’s the most to blame!”
A crack finally appeared in Shawn’s cold expression, and he rebuked Jasmine, calling her insane and saying that she still wanted to absolve herself of responsibility, even now.
I, for one, agreed with Jasmine’s words wholeheartedly.
Jasmine had come prepared to ruin us, that was for certain, but if Shawn had loved his wife and son without any question or
doubt, then he would have never fallen for her petty tricks!
He was the one most to blame for my death, and for the injuries that littered Aster’s body.
Jasmine wasn’t deterred, her venomous words lashing at him relentlessly without any reprieve. “You’re trying to torture me to death to repent for torturing Astrea to death? Hahaha, tough luck! Do you think any of this is going to matter? She’s already dead, and your precious son is unconscious!
“Hah, you should have married me! We’re both irredeemable monsters, cut from the same cloth! The same kind of filth!”
Shawn’s face darkened in fury and humiliation. “Shut up! How dare you?!”
At that, he slapped her hard across her face. Blood seeped from the corners of her mouth, and she no longer had the strength to
curse him.
“Enough!”
