I nodded “We’ve talked it out, but he doesn’t seem willing to end things peacefully.”
Hearing this, Sigmund immediately wrapped his arm around my waist. “Liam, when you see my wife from now on, show some respect. If there’s a next time, I won’t hesitate to send you overseas.”
Liam froze, clearly stunned, while Sigmund led me out without another word. My belongings were packed up and taken by the bodyguards.
Once we returned, Sigmund went straight to his study to work, while I collapsed onto the bed, letting out a long sigh of relief.
My phone buzzed incessantly with messages from Liam, full of apologies and pleas for forgiveness. He even had the audacity to suggest I leave Sigmund.
Scoffing, I took a screenshot of his messages and unblocked Sharon just long enough to send them to her.
“Your dear friend doesn’t seem to want to let go of me. Please handle him.”
After sending the message, I blocked her again, along with Liam.
The two of them could spiral together for all I cared.
After that, whether Sharon made a scene or not, Liam never bothered me again. Instead, Sigmund handed me a
contract.
When I opened it, I couldn’t help but gasp. “Shares?”
“Yes. Since we’re married, it’s only fair. This was Dad’s idea.”
I was genuinely surprised. I hadn’t expected to receive Hopkins family company shares of five percent just like that. To put it in perspective, Liam only had three percent.
I accepted it, deciding to play my part in this arrangement, though Sigmund didn’t seem to be putting on a show. He even dragged me to register the marriage officially.
That caught me off guard, but I wasn’t about to lose out.
During this time, Liam never once reached out to me until three months later.
That day, my parents had invited me over for dinner, and as soon as I arrived, I saw Liam’s car parked out front.
