She then told our group, “The topic and report you presented were really good. You may try to refine it and submit it for publication. Feel free to ask me for help if you find it necessary.”
My eyes lit up.
If I managed to publish a paper, I would have a better chance of securing a spot in the postgraduate program.
Meanwhile, Jane was staring at me with her dark eyes….
After the incident, my two other roommates also distanced themselves from her.
She could only find new friends.
Our senior informed us that the college was planning to host a cultural night. All members of the club would need to work on it.
During our meeting, we discussed some unique ideas for the setup and student activities.
I wrote down some ideas in my notebook, but I felt that they were not good enough.
Jane was sitting nearby, and she kept throwing out some creative ideas.
However, I found that her ideas sounded similar.
They were ideas that I had written in my notebook!
I looked at Jane, but she ignored me. She was enjoying the praise from a few of our seniors.
I turned around and scanned my surroundings before staring at the camera behind me.
The young woman who was holding the camera put it down shyly.
I could tell from her name tag that she belonged to the Photography Club.
I immediately recalled that Jane was from the same club.
Jane seemed to notice that I was distracted, and she asked, Rue, do you have any good ideas? I know you’re always prepared!”
Everyone in the room stared at me.
answered, “The ideas you mentioned were pretty good. But ideas alone won’t be enough. I wanted to ask if you could pick an idea and elaborate on your proposal?“.
Jane felt awkward. “Well… everyone should contribute to the proposal!”

Chapter 6
Suddenly, someone next to me said, “Hey, Rue, you have the same ideas as Jane!”
She saw the notes that I had written.
I immediately replied, “Yeah, what a coincidence! But I didn’t really come up with a proposal because I found it hard to put these ideas into action. Now that I’m hearing them from Jane, I’m curious to know her thoughts!”
Jane’s face turned red, as she could not say a word.
She looked at the seniors surrounding her as she hinted at them for help.
One of the seniors immediately took the bait. “There’s no rush for a detailed proposal as long as our ideas are new!”
I smiled as I refuted him, “What new ideas do you have? Since you have more experience, your ideas must be great.”
Both of them no longer said a word after that.
In the end, the leader asked us to go back and think about a proposal.
During the next meeting, Jane presented a few proposals.
“Your ideas are not only fresh, but they’re very doable! I believe the teachers will be impressed,” the leader said in surprise.
Jane smiled bashfully.
After the meeting ended, I ate at the cafeteria with some of the club members. We bumped into Jane and the senior who helped her out earlier. They seemed close.
Surprised, one of them said, “Jane’s dating Daniel Lee?”
