She pointed at Jane.
Right then, a realization dawned on me. The young girl was likely hypersensitive to her surroundings, and Jane’s prolonged stare must have frightened her.
Jane frantically tried to explain herself, but the teacher was already dissatisfied with her previous stunt. She turned around and discussed getting a different volunteer with our leader.
Our leader’s expression completely darkened, and she said to Jane, “Take a walk. Come back when it’s time to leave.”
Jane refused to give up. “I didn’t do anything. What about my credit…?”
Qur leader snorted. “Forget about your credit.”
We had some free time later, so I walked into the library where I found many psychology books..
The teacher walked in and gently asked, “Are you interested in psychology?”
I smiled in response. I definitely wanted to learn about human behavior.

It seemed that I left a good impression on the teacher, so she exchanged numbers with me. She told me that if I was interested in learning more about psychology, she could give me some recommendations.
Our leader noticed this and whispered to me, “She’s a PhD older. Does this mean you’re like her student now?”
Jane seemed to overhear our conversation. She stomped her foot and ran out.
After this, her actions became even more disorganized and rantic.
Our class representative notified us that we had to break into groups to complete an assignment.
Jane immediately approached Taylor Brown, who was one of the top students in class. She wanted to be in a group with her.
Unfortunately, Taylor turned her down. “This assignment carries credit, and I want someone I’m more confident-
in.”
When Taylor came to me, I brought up a few topics.
I had put in effort to completely prepare for them.
After we quickly selected our topic, we returned to our respective dorm rooms to further prepare.
Just as I returned, Jane asked, “Rue, have you already selected your topic?”
“Why? Are you planning to choose the same topic?” I asked directly.
Jane avoided my gaze. “Why would I? There are so many topics, so I don’t think we’ll choose the same one!”
I sneered and ignored her. Then, I kept my things and went to take a shower.
