I walked toward Anthony, but Cyrus grabbed my wrist. “Did you break up with me because you got together with him? Looks like
you’re just as unfaithful, Marilyn!”
I tried to shake him off, but Cyrus‘ grip was like a vice. He even left red marks on my wrist from how hard he was squeezing me.
“Even if I am dating Anthony, that has nothing to do with you!”
All of a sudden, Cyrus completely lost control. He dragged me out of the hall and into his car.
I sat in the passenger seat, terrified at how fast he was going. “Cyrus, you’re speeding!
“Say something! Where are you taking me?”
The scenery outside the window flitted past so quickly I had no idea where I was. It may have been my imagination, but I sensed a deep aura of despair emanating from Cyrus.
His gaze on me was manic. “I’m taking you home, Marilyn! We can start over.”
In my panic, I put my phone on silent, but I did not dare to send a call for help while Cyrus was watching me.
“I know you’ve been miserable lately, Marilyn. I was wrong, I shouldn’t have ignored you or insulted you. I’m really sorry this time! You gotta give me a chance to make it up to you, okay?”
Cyrus was too agitated. I did not dare to trigger him anymore.
Chapter 6
At the same time, I knew Anthony would save me, so what I had to do now was buy time.
Survival was my first priority.

Just before the point of no return, Cyrus‘ car suddenly had a burst tire. He swore under his breath and got out of the car to check.
However, the first thing he saw was Serena standing outside, ranting like a maniac. “What’s so good about her, huh?! Did you
abandon me for her?”
Cyrus shielded me with his body. “Don’t be reckless. If you have to do something, take it out on me!”
It was the worst thing to say to a hysterical Serena. She suddenly grabbed some scissors from her purse and stabbed Cyrus.
He stared at her in disbelief before collapsing into a heap.
I took advantage of the chaos to escape. Before long, I saw Anthony’s car nearby. He was searching for me.
“Hurry, Serena’s going to kill me!” I cried.
We quickly made a police report. By the time we arrived back on the scene with the cops, we found Serena sitting on the ground
and holding Cyrus, crying and laughing at the same time.

Cyrus was on the brink of death, lying motionless in her arms. The cops took them both away, while Anthony and I went home.
