“I’m not going anywhere. I just don’t like these anymore,” Macle replied Impassively.

Edward’s tense posture relaxed at those words. He instructed Nathan, “Go to the supermarket downstairs and buy a quilt and a bedding set.
Nathan obeyed and left, while Edward returned to the living room.
Macie continued tidying up. Most of her belongings were there, but….
She suddenly stood up and strode to her old room. Just as she was about to unlock a drawer with a key, someone appeared behind her and pulled open the bottommost layer
Macie froze for a moment upon seeing the empty space insile. When she turned around, she was greeted with the sight of Sharon’s smugly curved lips.
“Where’s my notebook?” Macie demanded.
“What notebook? I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Sharon feigned ignorance.
“Didn’t you open this drawer?” Macie gritted her teeth.
Before Sharon could reply, Edward approached from the doorway, wearing a frown. “What are you two arguing about?”
Just as Macie was about to confront her, Sharon quickly responded first, “It’s nothing. May was just checking if she left anything behind.”
Then she leaned in, lowering her voice to whisper in Macie’s ear. “Macie, I threw that notebook in the trash. Did you really want Edward to see all those disgusting things you wrote?”
Macie’s body stiffened, a cold chill spreading down her spine. She could only glare at Sharon.
Sharon continued, “You should be grateful to me. What kind of look do you think Edward would have given you if he had seen it? He only likes me. You, on the other hand, make him sick.”
Macie clenched her fists, biting her lip as her entire body trembled. She stared at Sharon, unable to utter a single
word.
Sharon was right. Edward had never liked Macie. He only felt disdain and hatred toward her.
Rather than letting him find out about the notebook and use it to humiliate her, it was better that it was thrown away. She had planned to destroy it anyway.
“What did you leave behind?” Edward asked from outside the room after watching the two speaking quietly between themselves.
“Nothing.” Macie answered softly. She then stood up and walked past Edward with her head down.
Sharon smirked and was about to take Edward’s arm when he suddenly asked, “When will your ID be ready?”

Sharon’s smile stiffened. “Since I’m an orphan, my household registration is still in a collective record. I’ve already asked my assistant to help process it.” She added, her eyes misty with emotion, “Am I causing trouble for you, Ed?”
“No. Don’t overthink it. I was simply asking,” Edward reassured her.
“I thought you were going to kick me out now that May is back,” Sharon murmured sorrowfully with her head lowered.

Edward reached out and gently ruffled her hair. “How could I? You can stay as long as you want.”
Hearing this, Sharon smiled. “Thank you, Ed. You’re so kind.”
Macie, who was inside the guest room, listened to their sickeningly affectionate exchange and felt nothing but disgust. Regardless, she would be leaving soon anyway. Sharon could stay forever for all she cared.
Nathan returned with the bedding set, but before he could help make the bed, Edward ordered him to leave.
“She has nothing better to do. Let her take her time setting it up,” Edward said.
Right then, Sharon asked sweetly, “Ed, can you drop me off at the studio? I need to head out.”
“Sure,” Edward agreed.
The house finally fell silent again after the three of them left and locked the door behind them. Inside the small guest room, Macie straightened up and took a deep breath as if finally able to relax. As the room had grown dusty from being unused for so long, she went to get a cloth to start cleaning.
